It's that time of year again...

If you are stuck for gift ideas for family/friends, look no further than our round-up of the best books for Christmas. From psychological thrillers to women's fiction, autobiographies to cookbooks (and everything in between), there really is something for everyone.

And, as ever, we are giving one lucky person the chance to win everything featured on the page...worth over £800. All you have to do is tell us, on this thread, who you'd most like to find under your tree this Christmas (and why).

We will be drawing a winner at random at midday on Monday 16 December. Terms and conditions apply - more details on the page.

I’d like to find my daughter Natalie under the Christmas tree as she is currently in Australia and I haven’t seen her for a year

Charlize Theron. Stunning looking woman with a great sense of humour

My gorgeous 6 month old grandson Asher lives in New York and won’t be coming over here for his first Christmas. I so wish I could find him under my tree on Christmas morning!

I'd like to find my mum under my Christmas tree. She was taken so quickly, I would love to be able to cuddle her one more time and fulfill our tradition of singing German carols around the tree ☺

I would love to find Pearce Brosnan under my tree as long as he promises not to sing though

prid1 Fri 13-Dec-19 22:07:05

Charles Dickens I'm sure he would keep Me and my family entertained with his stories especially the classic 'Christmas Carol'.

Thought I answered this before, but can't find it now & things have moved on. I'd like to find JC - not the Cmas one - Jeremy Corbyn. It would make a change to to meet an honest, ethical politician. Sadly, that seems to have done him no favours.

James Stewart (of Harvey fame) so he could read ‘Twas the night before Christmas’ I’d record him and then play it every year.

I’d love to find David Attenborough. He’d be such an interesting person to have around.

My lovely mum who died 36 years ago x

Anton du Beke. He has done amazing stuff this series with Emma Barton and I wonder whether he could teach an old dancing donkey like me how to do it properly!

Would love to find Santa and share a glass of port with him xx

It would be wonderful to find my favourite author, John Grisham under my tree! (well, have you seen his picture on the back cover of his books??? Rather dishy, don't you think?) smile

I'd love to find my partner under the tree - he's at sea for 3 months and I won't see him again until mid-March, and I miss him like mad already!

No1nana Sat 14-Dec-19 17:46:59

I’d like to find my 2 grandsons who live in Australia under my tree, it would be the best Christmas ever if I could spend this magical day with them.

highrising51 Sat 14-Dec-19 17:52:06

I'd like to find my new puppy under my tree, not in my tree, on top of my tree, half out the door WITH my tree - such an (adorable) terror!

seagull24 Sat 14-Dec-19 17:58:42

The lovely Gino D’Acampo to cook a delicious lunch. I’ll wash up!

hughese Sat 14-Dec-19 18:21:27

An iPad to do all my computer browsing on

Apart from my darling hubby of course, I’d love to find Mr Michael Boulé under my Christmas tree ? Ooo I think I’m having a hot flush at the thought.... due to the menopause obviously

galadrial Sat 14-Dec-19 22:29:13

I would love to find my cousin Jean under the tree, she was 90 earlier this year and I haven't seen her for 22 years as she lives in New York, so this would be a great Christmas present,

jojo8208 Sat 14-Dec-19 22:48:59

Rum butter the way my Grandmother used to make it - I've tried for many years & I still can't quite get it right

Countryfan Sun 15-Dec-19 04:27:44

I would love to find Glen Campbell with his guitar under my Christmas tree. He was such a gifted singer and musician and fought bravely to highlight the need for further research into Alzheimer's. Although we have his musical legacy, I never managed to see him at a concert.

The Christmas fairy with three wishes!
