It's that time of year again...

If you are stuck for gift ideas for family/friends, look no further than our round-up of the best books for Christmas. From psychological thrillers to women's fiction, autobiographies to cookbooks (and everything in between), there really is something for everyone.

And, as ever, we are giving one lucky person the chance to win everything featured on the page...worth over £800. All you have to do is tell us, on this thread, who you'd most like to find under your tree this Christmas (and why).

We will be drawing a winner at random at midday on Monday 16 December. Terms and conditions apply - more details on the page.

Both of my grandchildren. I'm hoping that it really will happen this year. We all have our fingers crossed.

I would like to find my Dad. I've not seen him since September. So that would be great.

I'd like to find Kamala Harris...she would have a few days before Joe's inauguration and I'd love to find out more about her route to success - plus she has the best laugh ever!

I'd love my Husband to be there - but as he USED to be,
Before the Alzheimer's that is taking him from me.
He used to be witty, and loving, and clever,
I miss this so much, and my every endeavour
Is to keep him healthy, happy and as content
As possible as a person can be with Dementia.

Jacinda Ardern - because in these difficult and traumatic times Jacinda Ardern seems to have been such a caring person trying to bring the best from things for the better of all people and maybe a bit of that goodness would transfer to me smile

renaplumridge Mon 09-Nov-20 11:24:02

I’d like to find my dear old mum who passed away earlier this year

I'd like to find Jon Bon Jovi under my tree, his smile melts my heart and I've not had much to smile about this year

My thoughts exactly. Another vote for Jon Bon Jovi here :-)

Only just seen the date of the comp! Can't this thread be taken off? I know folk will still want to put their wishes forward but can the book win be removed?

cinders59 Mon 09-Nov-20 11:20:34

Oh just my family, both past and present, just one more lovely family Christmas with my family when I was young, if only for a few minutes, then will go back to the present with my beautiful family

KarenBaines Mon 09-Nov-20 11:18:33

this year a good book and some home made mums toffee

silverdragon Mon 09-Nov-20 11:18:33

I'd love to find my boyfriend! I've seen him once since March. due to location it makes more sense for his support bubble to be his brother & family who live nearer.

It's been so hard looking after elderly parents not just in this year but over the past 5 years (and all since I took early retirement) that the only time I can really relax is when I'm with him. Much of the time spent with both of us reading in silence. Complete bliss!

Our daughter because she is a hospital doctor and may have to look after Covid patients if infections increase

pamelaJEAN Mon 09-Nov-20 11:13:47

I’d love to find my family under the Christmas tree , but because of Covid restrictions don’t think it will be possible, but a cure for this cruel virus that would be my choice of a perfect present for the world.

carol2712 Mon 09-Nov-20 11:12:09

My daughter due to this virus we haven't been able to meet up this year.

KAKADU Mon 09-Nov-20 11:10:43
