Having been diagnosed with breast cancer and having had various side effects I have not been at my best over the last few years. Needless to say I didn’t want to tell everyone just how ill I really felt.. Immediate family got the gory details .......But others...

“ I’m doing okay. thanks , coping pretty well...”.

.....but I have been able to give my friends more accurate information since finishing treatments. They have all been happy to accept my apologies , usually with a hug and ? ?

Hate nuts but my Mother in Law bought me a massive nutty selection of chocolates for my birthday a few years ago. Told a white lie saying how delicious they'd been etc so as not to make her feel bad and now ever since I've been inundated with boxes of nutty chocolates, nutty Easter eggs etc. Husband is more than happy though as he gets to eat them all smile

I feel very embarassed to admit this lol but hay here it goes! When lockdown began, my mum put together a food hamper for me and my partner which included over 16 packs of biscuits!! I had said I was going to eat healthier (currently a size 12) but I tend to binge eat when I am stressed and made my way through the 16 packs as well as other sweets and chocolate in 2 days and told a white lie saying I had to throw the biscuits out because they were too tempting!

I used to tell my children that the icecream van had ran out of icecream when it came round playing music. My daughter was 10 years old when she realised, she alerted her older brother who has autism to this fact so I got away for many years without buying icecreams from the van

When my family gives me a present I don't really like I will always say I like it ..... I can't not i think that would be rude

Telling my sons that the cake they had baked for my birthday (including the odd bit of eggshell) was the best I'd ever eaten.

Yesterday my daughter asked for an ice cream off the van and I said I had no money in my purse

Blackah Mon 18-May-20 06:28:02

I think the most common white lie at the moment is, 'It's fine, it's no trouble.' Generally to my Mum who has just remembered something she needs right after I've done her shopping!

I called in to work daily to say I had flu, it was December and no one was allowed annual leave in that month. I had gone on holiday with my boyfriend. I was 21
Never ever again the deception spoiled the holiday and I have never ever done it again.
