He doesn't usually get involved with my stuff. I like crafts and cooking. He likes to eat what I cook and is complimentary about the finished articles that I make.

I sometimes get irritated, if I am being completely honest. I have so many hobbies and interests, and sometimes having to explain the ins and outs of what I am doing, kind of takes some of the enjoyment out of it for me. We have plenty of mutual hobbies, so I don't feel too guilty about this.

After nearly forty years of marriage, I think we've got past the notion of ring-fencing chores and hobbies. Whatever we do, we do together. If your partner is also your BF, why wouldn't you?

I get very very mad

I stand back however the anxiety i feel is off the scale. I secretly go back and redo jobs especially if he offers to clean the bathroom. I have pointed out the shower screen and skirting boards need cleaned but he never does!!

My partner and I very often do things together I usually ask his opinion on things as he has a sharp eye and can spot things I can't. Plus I love being with him after 40 years of marriage not bad is it.

I haven’t had a partner for many years since my divorce so don’t have that problem! Am very happy on my own doing my own thing and making my own decisions.

Would depend on what It is and how precious it is to me or if It is something I would gladly share

Janeno1 Sat 02-May-20 09:47:08

I don’t have a partner ☹️ Does that mean I can’t take part in the completion

Emhus7 Sat 02-May-20 07:17:22

We just share smile

He took over the supermarket shop after my hysterectomy 10 years ago and still does it weekly. I usually have to go again another day to get the things he didn't! Went together once - once only as he goes up and down every single row - even ones we never buy from! Or disappears and then its a struggle to meet up again.

Jenken Fri 01-May-20 22:34:15

He keeps well away and only comes near when I shout “help” which is more often than not.

Nana3 Fri 01-May-20 21:48:40

Would be as rare an occurrence as hens teeth.

BoneBuckingham Fri 01-May-20 20:33:09

I like it when we can enjoy something together!

Ara Fri 01-May-20 19:34:30

he'll probaby get bored so Ill let him join in.

Suema Fri 01-May-20 17:51:48

In theory it should be lovely to do things together but it can get a bit competitive! I'm keeping him away from book group!

I’m divorced. One of the reasons we split up was my ex interfering in the interests that I wanted to enjoy as a person in my own right and not part of a couple. I resented his attempt to get involved as it wasn’t coming from a good place but rather through a need to control and keep tabs on what I was doing.

Kingfisher333 Fri 01-May-20 17:13:45

He normally doesn't but if he does I don't mind.

Ros18 Fri 01-May-20 16:57:06

I always value his input -helpful to have two heads to solve problems

paulawoodhead Fri 01-May-20 16:44:23

WE rub along just fine.

Lin663 Fri 01-May-20 15:58:57

We tend to have our own “stuff” and tend to let each other get on with it. The only time I feel he is interfering is when he comes up behind me in the kitchen and puts his arms around me...I do tell him off sometimes, but mainly I actually love the fact that even after 2 decades of marriage we are still tactile and genuinely enjoy being together!

Verica Fri 01-May-20 15:55:19

I am happy for him to do it and like to see if he garners the same enjoyment as me. Quite often he sees things from a different angle and can add another level of enjoyment to it.

BBbevan Fri 01-May-20 15:43:12

I usually walk away and let him get on with it,

Dexterbaby123 Fri 01-May-20 14:51:42

I do not mind ,we like to have same interests but still like to have our own as well. It is what one of the things that makes a long and lasting marriage.

smith106 Fri 01-May-20 14:38:17

I really don't mind sharing things with my husband
