Since he has been furloughed he has been involved in almost everything I do and not always for the best.I am looking forward to him being able to safely return to work and a morning to myself.

maisiecoco Tue 28-Apr-20 09:12:10

After picking myself up off the floor after fainting, with shock, that he would even be remotely interested in anything that is considered "mine" then I would willingly and gratefully let him join in smile

After over 40 years of not lifting a finger about the house my lovely husband took over all the washing up and vacuuming when he retired. I love it.......’crack on, mate!!’ ?

Rejhass Tue 28-Apr-20 08:39:34

We always share

allybruce Tue 28-Apr-20 08:35:37

It happens quite a lot in the kitchen, I am busy baking or cleaning and he will come and interfere. I think it is because we are on lockdown and personal space has become more of an issue. I usually stop what I am doing and go and do something else in another room!!

Lovewool Tue 28-Apr-20 08:21:18

Definately his and hers in this house ?

NotSpaghetti Tue 28-Apr-20 08:12:35

We do most things together but not exercise (unless by that you mean walking) as we have very different ideas about it.
I don’t envisage us exercising together and would certainly be surprised.

I would be quite happy for DH to join me. I keep encouraging him to dance with me but so far he's not showing any interest. I will keep trying.

Palmy Tue 28-Apr-20 07:19:22

Happy for my husband to share in my daily activities

Nortsat Tue 28-Apr-20 07:00:22

He only gets involved occasionally and then usually to suggest ‘efficiencies’. I always listen to any suggestions and then invariably go back to my own methodology.

I can’t bear conversations which begin ‘What you need to do is ...’ I screen those out ... ?

annep1 Tue 28-Apr-20 06:47:53

He wouldn't without asking. Neither would I with him. We like our own space so we would both probably say no.

Lclaytonuk555 Tue 28-Apr-20 05:58:20

Due to ill health my husband has had to take over and do a lot of the things I used to do. It took me a while to accept I couldn’t do them and to accept that he does things differently from how I did them. Now I am just very grateful that he does them and just gets on with them, he has been brilliant!

SusieWilkinson Tue 28-Apr-20 03:00:32

My partner always thinks he knows better than me, so when he starts interfering in any of my projects he gets short shrift from me!

Oceana8 Tue 28-Apr-20 01:20:49

I would be pleased he making an effort to share my interests

AmyRobbo Tue 28-Apr-20 00:31:26

I am grateful when my partner gets involved in something I consider to be mine, and I love when he shows an interest, however, I think what makes us get along so well is that we have so many different interests. Because of that, we usually end up going back to doing our own things & having our own hobbies.

He gets a cold hard stare if he saunters into the kitchen while I'm cooking and randomly stirs a pan.

irenepeppie Mon 27-Apr-20 23:48:44

We have been married 51 yrs and throughout that time we have shared all parts of our lives but each know the boundaries and when to hold back. Amicable agreements can reasoned out

lewiscro Mon 27-Apr-20 23:48:37

I normally ask him to get involved anyway!

wifeupnorth Mon 27-Apr-20 23:34:43

I just let them think they are helping (even when they aren't!).

Siameselouise Mon 27-Apr-20 23:21:07

I don't mind him getting involved with my things but he doesn’t always do things as meticulous/detailed as me so that winds me up and I have to tell him and we fall out! I can't help it!

quizqueen Mon 27-Apr-20 23:16:05

No partner.

janney3 Mon 27-Apr-20 23:03:13

I'd welcome it and enjoy doing something together.

wagstaff1 Mon 27-Apr-20 22:59:53

Usually I have to exercise a lot of patience as the other half asks so many questions that it slows my progress! But its good to have him along eventually

Joesniff79 Mon 27-Apr-20 22:54:55

If my partner got involved in something that was mine it would normally stress me out a bit it would feel that they were interfering or didn’t trust me in a small way..I would tend to get upset or annoyed

kevincharley Mon 27-Apr-20 22:20:25

If he wants to be involved, great. Equally, if he doesn't want, that's also fine.
My big thing is dog training and obedience competitions which he doesn't enjoy and I don't push it.
