I have no partner, haven't for a long time. I think there's nothing wrong with either/both of you having individual interests. Thinking of several married friends, they all say the same - that it's good to spend time apart, it makes getting together again all the better.
To be honest, I would be very happy to share any activity with him! I am always trying to guilt-trip him into exercising with me - if it was up to him, he'd never leave the house.
We usually share share alike but when it comes to doing my garden I like to do it myself so if he started to get involved, I would start to get involved in something he considers to his like his fishing Tackle,
I would be delighted if he showed an interest in my hobbies. I try to keep out of his U3A reading groups as he considers them 'his'. Can't see him joining my RSPB bird walks or my craft group. we do share the gardening though where I try not to criticize, and gently suggest what should be done.
