big big arguments

I am single so am not really sure how I can answer this question! When it comes to family and friends, it is nice when we can do activities together.

To be honest my husband doesn't tend to get involved in my things, as they are usually boring things like meal planning and shopping. However, if I try to get involved in his DIY projects.... It usually ends in an exchange of words ?

Incredible amount of mess and an inability to find anything but he’s used afterwards.

Lala12 Mon 25-May-20 11:12:03

It depends what it is, sometimes I might just leave him to it. But if he gets involved with something and then starts giving me advice and how he does it better or should be done I get very cross!

Northernandproud Mon 25-May-20 10:33:41

He always manages to do what activity it is, and usually better than me
I bought a sewing machine to learn to sew, so far i haven't learnt to thread it Mr Northern has made curtains, and home made face masks
I tried to make a macrame plant hanger mr Northern finished it
I just have to accept hes better at crafts than me

I would love my partner to get involved with something I believed was mine, as she has been dead since the 4th nov 1994

pamelacook Mon 25-May-20 09:56:14

It upsets me! I always feel that he thinks I cannot do it on my own and need help, whereas I feel I am perfectly capable. Sometimes I get grumpy with him though I do try not to.

laurenold Mon 25-May-20 08:46:39

I would be reasonably happy to share whatever it was

kazzabarbie Mon 25-May-20 08:37:23

Some of the time he takes over and I end up losing interest & let him get on with it.

goglyeyes Sun 24-May-20 23:33:09

There's nothing off limits for me. If he wants to get involved in my interests I don't mind. If he demanded it it however, or became pushy, we would have words. lol.

Jilly1967 Sun 24-May-20 22:36:17

I think there are some things that are shareable but I would only want to do that if it suited us both....encourage them to find their own niche too

cleggy Sun 24-May-20 21:57:02

I love gardening but my partner tries to help by pulling up my plants saying he thought it was a weed. He also tells me off for cutting the grass to often. I wish he would find his own hobby.

Rustied Sun 24-May-20 21:48:29

I’m more than happy for my wife to get involved in any interests I have It’s our 25th wedding Anniversary this year and try as I have I still haven’t been successful in getting her involved in my love of gaming - I can but dream

rmedley Sun 24-May-20 20:14:13

I would enjoy sharing the experience with him. We like to do things together so it would be a great thing.

shamusp Sun 24-May-20 19:43:58

no problem !

thecatwhisper Sun 24-May-20 17:15:42

I don't have a partner so I can't react. If it was gardening I would hit the roof as I like being head gardener

karenharrison Sun 24-May-20 16:51:15

He really doesn't. We have defined jobs that we've wroled out over the last 30 years and we stick to them.

bookmark58 Sun 24-May-20 15:42:11

I really don't mind, as long as it doesn't become theirs.

bookmark77 Sun 24-May-20 14:10:01

Nothing really, we like to share.

VictoriaSt Sun 24-May-20 11:25:20

I like sharing with my partner so I let them join in in whatever is "mine"

gillwill Sun 24-May-20 07:18:52

I am happy when my partner gets involved with something that is mine because it shows that he takes an interest in things I do. I am disappointed when he doesn't show interest.

sylviagill1807 Sun 24-May-20 06:50:54

My Partner is very good at doing everything and I'm happy for him to be involved and helping in something I consider to be mine... he usually does a better job than me !

madmum38 Sun 24-May-20 05:59:01

Would have liked him to get involved but he never wanted to

Envelope Sun 24-May-20 03:26:57

When my partner takes up an interest I have had for a long time, they soon become an “expert” in whatever it is and start giving me helpful tips about how to do it better. I can find it annoying or just smile and agree.
