The observant among us may have noticed that the prizes for Gransnet competitions are all donated by businesses seeking exposure in social media such as Gransnet/Mumsnet, and the text on each competition page includes a certain amount of marketing-speak. If organisations are feeling the pinch of CoVid and don't wish to make the donations, then the number and value of competitions and their prizes diminishes.

So did I. It's in the 'latest' at the right hand site of these posts.

I must be dreaming, I'm sure I entered one yesterday for a bundle of toys.

Still no competitions

The sponsors of the competitions are also having a hard time. There companies are not making as much money now with furlough and people being off sick with covid19. When tings get back to more normality the competitions will return. You only have to look around and see how many shops are closed for the time being and some may never be able to open again. All keep safe and well.

Cost cutting perhaps? Not enough sponsors to enable them to run the competitions? Maybe the sponsors are cost cutting.

Shame, especially the book of the month one - there were some good reads on there, plus an opportunity to try new authors.

I think that Covid will be used as an excuse for things not being possible for many months to come, along with Brexit of course. (Though not necessarily for running competitions ?).

I blame climate change?

Not even a book of the month any more. Could really do with a free book as all the charity shops are shut.
