He waits.
A decade later, the case has been closed. The killer is behind bars. But then another young woman is brutally attacked and left for dead, and the MO is identical.

He takes.

I love reading all thrillers but especially those in a series such as Angela Marsons - DI Kim Stone and Helen Fields - DI Callanach books as you get to know all the characters in the books.

I love reading crime books, especially anything by Ian Rankin. I also really enjoyed the Blackhouse trilogy by Peter May which was really evocative about the Outer Hebrides.

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn - such a classic piece of feminist-driven crime fiction.

I love reading thrillers to get drawn into a good story, with plot twists and great characters.

What lies beneath by Bill Kitson was so good I am now reading Vanish without a trace, Thank you for the comp.

Rosscoe Wed 12-May-21 17:40:46

The Talented Mr. Ripley, absolute classic imo. The thing I love most about reading thrillers is that they are gripping and keep you on the edge of your seat at times.

I loved the sanatorium last year by Sarah Pearce. I love crime because it's escapism. Nothing like the horror (touch wood) happens in my life so I like being scared, following the twists and turns.

fion7 Wed 12-May-21 15:14:24

I have always loved Minette Walters, her characters are always sinister but well developed, her books are easy to follow and as I sometimes I go months between reading bouts, (youngest son has severe learning difficulties), it's easy to get straight back into them.

Gosh, so much to choice from, love anything by Karin Slaughter and Ian Rankin

Candelle Wed 12-May-21 15:00:01

John Grisham for a book to keep on reading way after the light should have gone out!

John Grisham's speciality of American courts and its legal system ensures that he can give credence to his characters, incorporating many twists and turns. I particularly enjoyed 'Rogue Lawyer'.

Any John Grisham book, just one more page or should that be one more chapter....?

frannylee Wed 12-May-21 14:54:02

I enjoy reading Lucy Foley books. I preferred The Guest List to the Hunting Party, which was a bit more predictable.

misst Wed 12-May-21 14:25:55

Difficult to choose a favourite but Robert Ludlum's Bourne series is a good contender as is anything by Dean Koontz. I enjoy reading thrillers because of the cat and mouse element in so many of them and the resourcefulness and multiple points of view of the characters as well as the unforseen plot twists and turns

My favourite author is Agatha Christie but I enjoy several authors of murder/mystery books. The ABC Murders is my favourite Christie story. Trying to figure out whodunnit is why I read this genre of book

I love reading thrillers, and echo a lot of the suggestions already posted. I enjoyed Girl on a Train recently. It didn't turn out at all how I thought it would at the start, I do like twists and turns in the plot.

minilynn3 Wed 12-May-21 11:45:35
