I don't know whether anyone has had any dealings with this organisation, on checking my bank account today, I saw a debit of £18 which I didn't sanction. It seems a website that I sometimes use, Look Fantastic, makeup and perfume discounted, is where this had emanated from. I don't remember authorising this 3rd party to sign me up as a member and take a payment out of my bank account. I have contacted them to cancel and ask for a refund which is being processed. Just wondering if anyone else has had similar?

I've just looked if you'd mistakenly signed up for their Beauty Plus account but that is only £15 so it can't be that.

I really don't know how it happened, just alarmed to see a payment going out that I had no knowledge of authorsing. I'm not sure I'd use them again, I really don't like the idea of bank details being shared by a 3rd party.

Not quite the same but I bought some expensive herbal tablets online last month and saw in small print that I had a repeat monthly supply ordered.. which I hadn’t asked for . It appears I had ticked what I thought was send me an ‘more information and emails’ box. I can’t remember the wording off the top of my head but it was something like ‘tick if you want more information’ there must have been more I didn’t read and ticked thinking I d get more info as different products came out !
They cancelled it as soon as I told them but it’s very very easily done

More and more products are sold on a subscription basis - from cleaning products to vitamins or drinks. I know you can skip deliveries etc, but it’s something else to remember to do, and I try to avoid them. It’s annoying when you have to pay more to get ‘one off’ products though - they tend to lose my custom with that. It’s marketed as a discount for subscriptions, but really it’s an extra charge for PAYG.

DH's bank rang him this week about a monthly payment of £50 to a known scam company. DH had uite normally bought a small item from their website and deep in the small print was his acceptance of a monthly payment to the company.

His card was immediately cancelled and a new one issued.

More oddly, my DD rang me yesterday to say that my credit card had turned up on her credit record registered, at her address, during the day the address was changed to my home address. I did lodge with DD for 4 weeks last summer when we were between houses, but I never gave her address to anyone. I left everything at our previous address (we had a Post Office forwarding order in place) until we exchanged on our new home, I then gave everyone the address of our new home.

One of the reasons I use PayPal is that you look at your bank statement and don’t recognise the name.
You go to PayPal and can see all the details.
I had this years ago with Debenhams. The name of the company showing on my statement had no relation to Debenhams.
