Help! Anyone out there got a reliable method of freezing plums? There's a glut here and I've seen lots of methods, but need a good one fast!

Open freeze on trays?

Or put them in large freezer bags, add sugar so they are ready to go, flatten bags a bit, and put in freezer.

Give them a good shake to distribute the sugar.

Thanks Jangly. Off to the kitchen to get going!

If you want to stone them first, try this. www.lakeland.co.uk/15379/OXO-Good-Grips-Cherry-and-Olive-Pitter

I have the stoner jangly mentioned in her post. It's great for cherries, olives and even small greengages but it won't cope with plums.

Perhaps this one then, www.amazon.co.uk/Leifheit-Proline-Pitter-Stoner-Silver/dp/B0041G5L5S/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1313846941&sr=1-3

This one looks better, but gets expensive. www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B0041G5L58/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1
