Oooh, yes - I know where one can be found! I saw Nigella Lawson on TV in the last couple of days, doing this with a sliced up baguette, cheese, eggs etc., so it will be on either her own website or the BBC Good Food one - looked delicious.

Found it!

does anyone have a good recipe for sticky toffee pudding. The one I made had delicious toffee sauce but the sponge part was like concrete. The blackbirds and starlings enjoyed it!

This James Martin one is the pudding I have made and it's scrumptious. It's not light as a feather, but does come out as you would want a sticky toffee pudding to be.

I sometimes make a savoury bread and butter pudding using sandwiches filled with whatever I have in the fridge, usually tomato and/or ham, soaked with a basic custard mixture of 2 eggs to 1/2 pint of milk with seasoning, herbs and grated cheese. It makes a good supper dish.

Trust Nigell to think of a simple dish like her savoury bread& butter pudding. Why didn't I think of doing it?

Now I'm going to try it but I won't be mixing the onions and cheese to a paste but just finely chopped.
Not to forget leaving it overnight.
Anybody tried it yet?

What would you serve with it, or would you just have it on it's own?

I'd serve a green salad with it. Would look nice together.

It will be similar to my cauliflower bake which my good friend from Chile gave me.
That's a small cauliflower cooked 'al dente', and half a baguette soaked in a little milk and two beaten eggs. Should not be too sloppy.
Mix togther with sprigs of cauli and mix in 100g Cheddar cheese. Place in a pyrex dish, cover with more grated cheese and bake in hot oven. About 30 minutes.
For a family that likes cabbage and cauliflower so that will reduce the number possible eaters.
I was surprised that my friend made it for me as I never thought of South Americans eating cauliflower.
