You can remove cholesterol deposits but not the hardening that results from them. You can stop or slow down further damage by altering diet etc, but, if you already have damage you can't reverse it!

And she's fitter and a lot less disabled. She also does the DT crossword every day!

I used rapeseed oil for the first time today and the roasties were lovely and crunchy. The women in my family tend to be well into their nineties before they shuffle off so with a bit of luck I'll be looking forward to many more roast dinners and the rapeseed oil could come in handy to oil my wheelchair.

Strangely goose and duck fat are good guys - I can't understand it either - have to admit to liking potatoes cooked in it - chips are good too!

Let's just say I'm sceptical about what the food industry tells us is good and/or bad for us, plus there's no incidence of the cloggy disease in the family. My forebears died of other things, mostly old age.

Goose grease is odd in that it doesn't clog arteries!

Oh! I use sainsburys finest cooked in goose grease!, I'm a lazy cook, though I did chop the onions today!

They're yummy made with rapeseed oil.

jeni He uses goose fat to cook his roast spuds. I prefer rapeseed oil.

His yorkshire pudding was good.

His crumble topping had coconut somewhere in it which I didn't like. And it was 'real' custard and he didn't put enough vanilla in.

This was at a pub in Oxfordshire.

I think beef fat is best. Gets hotter without destabilising. Doesn't soak into the food.

No. They weren't greasy. Couldn't taste the fat either.

Just not as crunchy as ours come out at home. Nice enough though.

Got loads of meat. No wonder he's a podge!

I think goose fat is over rated.

Rapeseed oil works better.

It was very nice.

But the potatos weren't as good as mine.

And I didn't think much of the crumble.
