I didn't have my usual Saturday morning croissant today. I had toast (sourdough, though, very posh) and home-made marmalade.

In the week I have granola but I have tried them nearly all and there are only two I like. Is anyone else slightly obsessive-compulsive about breakfast or am I really weird?

OH! WOE! - i HAVE BEEN SPELLING YOGHURT WRONG FOR EVER! (looked it up in the dictionary Yoghurt is right, so I shall know in future).

jeni Tue 26-Jun-12 14:51:57

hmm

Annobel Tue 26-Jun-12 14:50:16

The way I do it is mash the banana, spread it on buttered toast and spread a layer of marmalade over it. Can also substitute Nutella for marmalade though i think that's rather yukky.

Bananas on toast?
Is the toast buttered
Do you cook the bananas?

Sounds interesting!

Annobel Tue 26-Jun-12 14:13:59

Greatnan, bananas on toast are delicious, but even better with marmalade spread on top - in my opinion.

spelled yogurt

Scillygran Tue 26-Jun-12 08:53:00

Homemade granola, can't beat it. Easy to make, keeps well and can be adapted to different tastes.

Start the day off with a yogourt drink, cup of tea, maple and pecan crisp with fruit and soya milk - can't go withou breakfast, have that quite early, but then I could die for a full English at about 10 o'clock, too lazy to cook it though.

Anagram Mon 25-Jun-12 13:06:40

Maybe it's the actual crunch that Chris misses, Annobel! wink

Annobel Mon 25-Jun-12 12:46:15

Do you have a food processor or blender, Chris? You could grind up your cereal until your mouth is able to cope with crunch. Like baby cereal!

Chris1603 Mon 25-Jun-12 12:28:07

I have had a tooth taken out and can't face my usual crunchy cereal and I miss it sad.

My favourite breakfast is smoked haddock or cod with a poached egg on top - I try to have a protien weight loss- better for the diet and it fills me up for longer. Today only fat free yogurt, banana and two scan bran though.

NannaB Mon 25-Jun-12 10:41:54

Special treat is a bacon sarnie. Usually have a bowl of fruit and fibre and a glass of juice.

ninathenana Sun 24-Jun-12 16:27:41

either branflakes with sliced banana + toast n marmalade

OR if DH fancies cooking grin scrambled eggs, couple rashers and mushrooms this has to be accompanied by OJ

coffee with both

Bez Sat 23-Jun-12 20:35:46

Most days I have a couple of pieces of fruit and maybe a yoghurt - some days I join OH and have porridge and on those days I never feel hungry and could go for hours past lunchtime. I must have at least two of mugs of coffee though.

2 shredded wheat with a sprinkling of cheerios or meusli does me better. And some berries if I've got any in.

j04 Sat 23-Jun-12 20:22:42

Breakfast like an Emperor, lunch like a King and sup like a pauper, is my moto.

Porridge made with half milk, half water, some cut up dried apple and cranberries, and a spoon full of crushed seeds (pumpkin, sunflower, almonds and linseed) - with a bit of cinnamon sugar and half-fat milk. Slow release GI, and keeps me going until about 2 when we have lunch.
