Thanks you, some great ideas. French supermarkets are full of exotic vegetables and fruits. I love avocado and shrimps, and three bean salad. Usually, the only hot thing I add are bacon pieces, but I am willing to have a go at anything. I buy a baguette and cut it into pieces about 3" long and freeze them. I take one out of the freezer every morning to have with my lunch.
My daughter in New Zealand makes the best salads I have ever tasted - their bbqs are great,
Today, my cooked meat was sliced duck's breast, cooked very quickly for two minutes each side so it was still very pink.
I am not bothered about calories - I am back to walking for several hours a day up very steep mountain paths. My weight is now just under 10 stone,or 63 Kgs. - down from nearly 12 stone 18 months ago. In fact, I don't really want to lose any more as it has mainly gone from my upper body, which was always much slimmer than my hips and thighs. My cheeks are a bit hollow and I have lost most of my bosom! However, I am not bothered about my appearance and the weight loss has certainly helped my knees. I can walk twice as far now without getting out of breath and can climb the steepest paths. My bp is down to 116/88 when I get back from a tough walk. Granjura nags me because she thinks I am not getting enough carbs! I cut a baguette into pieces about 3" long and freeze them and every morning I take one out to unfreeze ready for my lunch.
