Idea of Dish Of the Day pinched from fb.

No itemised recipes - just made up from ideas. This one was successful.

Tonight I cooked:

4 Pink Endive (halved), sauteed in olive oil, butter, some sage leaves and a bit of left-over balsamic salad dressing and a bit of lemon juice and white wine.

Drained and laid in a dish

Made a cheese sauce with grain mustard.

Poured over the endives. Covered in foil.
This was this morning. Left on the side.

This evening......

Baked for 30 mins and then took off foil for another 10 mins.

Meanwhile -

Steamed sliced runner beans (from Lidl). Thought about adding butter and pepper but thought the endive was rich enough. It was and the beans didn't need anything added.

Delicious and cheap.

Mmm. That sounds good, love endives.Just made loads of ratatouille: (aubergines£ 2.60 for 4 in Tesco)Put a piece of hake on top and grated cheese.Yum

Which is of course also known as endive!
