Recent full page slurges by TESCO in the national press

I have never been able to get beyond the third or fourth line of their plodding attempts at what I think is meant to be iambic pentameter, Shakespeare they are not. The 'verse' is so pedestrian and heavy footed it is unreadable. If they have something to say, why can they not just say it, briefly and to the point.

As it is I haven't a clue what those pages of drivel are all about. Do they say anywhere that they will cease to intimidate and screw their suppliers, ignore planning regulations and generally throw their cosiderable weight around to intimidate and bully local communities that oppose them in any way?

I tend not to notice advertisements – and, by any other name, that's waht these are.

Do people actually read them ?

Re ally sorry to read that tesco has just bought the Giraffe chain of restaurants. We used to like them as a good place to take the GCs - pizza and pasta for them, but decent salads for me. Guess that will change now.

Isn't Tesco getting far too powerful - it seems to be buying up everything?

In the news a couple of months was an item about Tesco opening up a coffee shop chain under the name "Harris & Hooles". Some of the customers interviewed thought that they were supporting a small, local business and weren't too happy when they were told it was owned by Tescos.

I wonder what else is in the pipeline. At this rate there won't be any small businesses left.
