I have searched high and low for them , asked everyone I know to no avail .
In desperation am asking if anyone knows where I could get them.
It is strange , they suddenly came into my mind couple days ago & I would love to introduce the G/C to them.
I remember my old DAD used to adore them !
tchsmile in hope

I've a vague (very) feeling that they may be called something else now, but I'm blowed if I can think what!
Is it Star something or is that Spangles? tchconfused

Did you mean the chewing gum Nonu..... www.wrigley.com/uk/brands/juicy-fruit.aspx ?

I was thinking of Starburst.

And Starburst used to be Opal Fruits...

no they are fruit shaped jellies , and when you bite into them they have a liquid centre . Remember ?
Thing is most sweeties are sold in bags and these were in a box !
heyho !

As long as my mother was alive we always had Newberry Fruits at Christmas. It was as immutable as the Turkey and the Christmas Tree.

I never liked the sugar shell that surrounded the liquid in the middle! I'd prefer them just as jellies...

We always have Newberry fruits at christmas. We currently have some stashed away in the spare bedroom, on the basis that if they were in the lounge they wouldn't last past tonight until Christmas. tchgrin

THey were/are made by a company called "Meltis" weren't they? I can just"hear" the advertisement "Meltis New Berry Fruits" - loved the red ones myself!
