I have just been looking at some recipes in a magazine by a person called Felicity Cloake. I must confess that I have never heard of her so assume she must be a new cook on the block. What she appears to be doing is a rehash of other people's recipes then calling them 'The Perfect' whatever.
Why her version should be any more perfect than someone else's is a moot point.
The descriptions she writes have made me grind my teeth and shout 'what a load of pretentious rubbish'. She makes Nigella sound like a plain speaker. Cream is not cream, but 'ivory cream' - as opposed to blue or green perhaps? For summer pudding you need 'thin homogenous slices rather than something full of artisanal holes' (of bread). Well, obviously!
Bring back Delia is all I ask.
