I bought a fillet of ling today and was cutting it up - came to a small black bit which I thought was skin, cut into it and black liquid squirted out
.
Luckily it didn't land on the white flesh, though I cut away the surrounding flesh which was stained.
Then washed the rest and am going to fry it in batter.
Any ideas what the black stuff was, and whether it's poisonous?
