Tonight we had Chicken Kiev with Lyonnaise potatoes. I have to admit the CK was not made by me but a local butcher whose ready meals are really, really good but I did make the Lyonnaise potatoes myself and I know I shouldn`t blow my own trumpet but it was a good meal

Cod baked in foil, jacket potato, roast baby tomatoes, peas and courgettes from the garden. Some parsley sauce (parsley from the garden!). Mr Q had chips instead.

janerowena Fri 11-Jul-14 19:37:13

Mixed roasted veg with garlic and olives, with prawns in an arrabiatta sauce.

Sweet and sour chicken and rice for us tonight. Quick and easy after a busy day. Just had a piece of Aldi almond chocolate to satisfy that annoying sweet tooth of mine. Why can't it yearn for celery or cucumber instead of chocolate?

annodomini Fri 11-Jul-14 19:10:13

Salmon fillet and green salad. Very abstemious as I've decided it's about time I stopped comfort eating. Will someone please remind me about that tomorrow?

merlotgran Fri 11-Jul-14 19:08:51

Nothing exciting tonight. Oven baked breaded scampi, salad and new potatoes.

Feeling lazy.

hildajenniJ Fri 11-Jul-14 19:04:38

Sorry grin

Hot evening, what better than a can of pea and ham soup and ham sandwiches all lovingly prepared by DH. A rare treat indeed[grin}

Yet more leftovers quietly glad everything is now used up - I blame my grandmother and mother - waste not want not. All washed down with several glasses of wine - it tasted really good - honest

Steak, maman potatoes and salad. Also with Ribena vegas. It's a Friday night tradition at our house - the steak I mean! grin

vegasmags Fri 11-Jul-14 18:17:41

On the menu tonight, here at vegasmags towers is griddled chicken, new spuds, asparagus and green beans. More importantly, washed down with a lovely glass of the red stuff - and I don't mean Ribena!

It got a bit complicated.....

Elegran Thu 10-Jul-14 19:06:00

tegan Have you said yet - "Oh I didn't know that he would not be coming? Didn't you have time to tell me?"

If not, work it into the next conversation. If you don't tell them that you were ready for him and were disappointed when he did not turn up, how will they know?

Lona Thu 10-Jul-14 18:39:01

No basil Galen? I love that swimming in olive oil.

Chicken Kiev with petit pois and sweetcorn for me.

ninathenana Thu 10-Jul-14 18:13:49

Can't think about cooking at the moment. To mucho on my mind. So it's Chinese takeaway.

vegasmags Thu 10-Jul-14 17:53:20

Galen - if you lived nearer, I'd be inviting myself round grin

Galen Thu 10-Jul-14 17:49:14

Low fat mozzarella with sliced tomato, drizzled with good olive oil from organic five hundred year old trees in the Tuscan hillsides. A little salt and black pepper and homemade bread.

Tegan Thu 10-Jul-14 17:39:38

The potato wedges I cooked for my grandson because no one told me he wasn't coming here this afternoon confused....

vegasmags Thu 10-Jul-14 17:29:46

Tonight I'm having pork snitzel (sp?) - ie a pork chop bashed flat, egg and breadcrumbed and fried in Frylight. With that goes sauté spuds, green beans and a sort of apple sauce made with Bramley apple, Greek yogurt and mustard. Feeling hungry now, but first have to iron and rehang the bedroom curtains I chucked in the machine this morning in a fit of enthusiasm.

NanKate Thu 10-Jul-14 07:10:41

Off for a week in the New Forest tomorrow so it is a case of finishing everything that is fresh in the fridge. 2 eggs, some tomatoes - I can see a fry up coming on. grin
