Tonight we had Chicken Kiev with Lyonnaise potatoes. I have to admit the CK was not made by me but a local butcher whose ready meals are really, really good but I did make the Lyonnaise potatoes myself and I know I shouldn`t blow my own trumpet but it was a good meal

phoenix it`s nice to be naughty on a Tuesday was in Lidl`s today and missed that bargain. Tonight it`s leftovers of baked ham, carrots and roasties. Does anyone else think like me that sometimes leftovers taste great???

I'm being a tad naughty tonight, Lidl 28 day aged Scottish sirloin, (bargain price) jacket potato and reduced fat coleslaw.

With a glass of wine!

Tonight's repast will be chili con carne and wild rice - trying to use up whatever is lurking at the bottom of the freezer. Had the leftovers from last night's dinner for lunch.

I'm having to do more cooking now that DS is home, It's taking quite a chunk out of my day! Not much tonight though. I bought some prepared Cromer crabs at the market, we will have fresh bread and salads with them, and I'll do a garlic mayonnaise.

DH away in London watching the Tour de France so I had a treat of some grilled sirloin steak and mushrooms and about 10 frites. Delicious. Himself doesn't care for steak so I only have it when he's away. Had a banana for lunch so not too naughty a dinner. wink

Tonight it's homemade vichysoise(spelling?) Soup and to follow, salad and a selection of cold meats. Lunch was sardines on toast. No-one to cook for, DH is visiting DD and family, helping them with moving heavy furniture etc. after their house move. Wish I was there. sad

I'm really enjoying this thread! Tonight, friends are coming round for tea, so we're having roast chicken, roast spuds, carrots, cauli, cabbage and swede. HM meringues with strawberries and cream. As appreciative guests, they usually bring a nice bottle of two - here's hoping!

kittylester Mon 07-Jul-14 17:22:05

Hot smoked salmon and lemon rice followed by strawberries and meringues with a dab of clotted cream. Quick and easy after a day riding the Tour de Yorkshire and playing in the men's singles final. (Took some doing but I am a dab hand with the zapper and recording - and pretending) wink

vegasmags Sun 06-Jul-14 12:53:18

Tonight on the menu is Slimming World chips, 2 fried eggs, bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes - something quick and easy in case the tennis goes on for a long time.

rosequartz Sun 06-Jul-14 12:52:19

Hope you enjoy the roast beetroot, sparkygran. I keep eyeing up the beetroot in the garden to see if any are large enough yet to make it.

We are having roast beef + everything tonight. Don't ask me why, just that we haven't had it for weeks, months even, so I just fancied it.
Followed by something with gooseberries, not sure what yet, depends how long the men's singles match lasts!
