We're out of bread and date slices so today breakfast (two 'sittings' separated by the washing/getting dressed routine) was three digestive biscuits, a Pink Lady apple, three buttered cream crackers, and a pot 2 pots of tea.

You?

I had two slices of toast and two mugs of tea. I have 2 year old rosie here for the day, so my eating needs aren't important. Rosie had toast then asked for ice cream. I managed to hold out on the ice cream until noon. Not easy with a toddler asking for it all morning!

Up at 03.30 to go to work, cup of tea courtesy of DH. Slice of bread with dairylea spread. Home again at 07.30 for proper breakfast of bacon butties and more tea. More of the same tomorrow exception being I might buy a sausage sandwich from the local butcher before I come home.

Yes Lona both Pain au Chocolat and Croissants are frozen. Promise you won't be dissapointed. I have also tried so called fresh ones and they were awful. The only fresh I have found which are equal, are made by a company named Delice de France which I can buy in a local petrol station shop.

Agree with Lona though I will try the frozen ones sometime on your reccommendation. I always have 2 large mugs of tea in the morning, and see that lots of people do. For me this is a new-ish thing though, in the past I would be happy with one mug of tea, do we need more now we are older?I like Earl Grey [with milk] when it's very hot outside, then with lemon. I prefer marmalade toast to anything else for brekky. When DH cooks full English then I have that [once a week] and now and again a croissant or pain au chocolat.

Lona Mon 07-Jul-14 13:52:43

Agus Are the croissants frozen too? I've had Waitrose fresh ones and I'm not particularly impressed with those.

This morning I had 3 small slices of Gfree fruit loaf, toasted, with Lurpak of course, and the usual 3 mugs of tea.

I love breakfast too usually bran flakes with raspberries from the garden and tea sometimes add a slice of granary toast with blackcurrant jam.

I love my breakfasts. Today two slices of toast, sliced banana, honey and cinnamon. Gorgeous.

We have smoothies in the morning bags! What a wimp grin

Kick start espresso is a must have for me. Faffing about essential then breakfast this morning was two, poached eggs on ham and toast with fresh orange juice, courtesy of DH.

I love a bit of decadence Shysal

Aka have you tried Waitrose frozen Pain au Chocolat or Croissants?Absolutely straight from the best French Bistro and best I have tasted outside of France. GDs love them.

janerowena Sat 05-Jul-14 12:37:48

Shysal knows how to live!

Usually a single slice of low-calorie bread toasted and sliced in half, crossed over itself, adorned with a few drops of a spicy sauce, topped with a single lonely poached egg. A sort of poor man's huevos rancheros.

Occasionally greek yoghourt, in a ramekin, topped with a handful of granola.

Yesterday it was just half a mango, because I was going out for lunch.

Hope you have a warm house, faye smile. Middle of summer here and the temp is 15°, though it is expected to go up to 16° this afternoon. I've been weeding in the garden and it actually felt lovely and warm in the sunshine.

kittylester Sat 05-Jul-14 10:09:52

DH is cooking bacon , eggs and fried tomatoes . When I recover from the shock I'm sureI will enjoy it! grin

Faye Sat 05-Jul-14 09:59:40

It's the middle of winter here baggy and was minus 1 yesterday morning and tomorrow the maximum is 14 with rain. sad

NfkDumpling Sat 05-Jul-14 07:43:19

Hope you enjoy your full English again today Grumppa! envy

I've just had a small bowl of Fruit and Fibre. The diet begins today -again!

Marmight Sat 05-Jul-14 07:35:09

grumppa grin

Full English at B&B in Essex yesterday. Will essay a full English again today, secure in the knowledge that a corkscrew is unnecessary for preparing breakfast (unless one is entertaining the President of the European Commission perhaps).

thatbags Sat 05-Jul-14 07:27:32

Mmm. Sounds yummy, faye. I think I'd have that if it was ever warm enough here for a cold drink first thing. Down to 8° overnight so I'll stick with hot tea this morning smile

Faye Sat 05-Jul-14 07:19:32

I made a smoothie, using my own blended almond milk, oats, dates, bananas, ice and this morning I added pepitos. I love smoothies and have one every morning. smile

I've been awake since 6.30. Am currently laying in bed using my Kindle. Too early to get up ! When I do I will have a bowl of fruit n fiber cereal and a mug of tea.

shysal Sat 05-Jul-14 06:47:22

jingle and Ana, I usually wake between 4.30 and 5.30, so a long soak in the bath with a snack and library book helps to pass an hour or so! I have only ever dropped one book into the water, 'came clean' and paid up! Don't use my Kindle though!

goldengirl Fri 04-Jul-14 22:08:41

Breakfast is my favourite meal. I have coffee, glass of juice and cereal - currently weetabix and shreddies with peaches. If I'm on my own I watch BBC breakfast and one of the cats usually comes for a cuddle. I'm up around 6.30

Ana Fri 04-Jul-14 22:00:56

At 5.30?!!!

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 04-Jul-14 21:58:00

Nfk!!! shock and envy

Shysal in the bath?!!!

shysal Fri 04-Jul-14 21:51:42

At 5.30 this morning I ate a slice of Mary Berry banana cake spread with butter (in the bath). Then at 7.30 a bacon and egg mayo bap.
Tomorrow I shall eat nothing until evening when I have a 500 calorie dinner of chicken in mushroom sauce, new potatoes and veg. Kick-starting weight loss again to lose a bit more, having managed to maintain for 18 months. Have lost 6lb in the first week.

ninathenana Fri 04-Jul-14 21:26:46

I showered, washed my hair and dressed whilst DH cooked himself a full English and a couple of poached eggs on toast with the added treat of a couple of rashers for me. OJ with that followed by mug of tea.

NfkDumpling Fri 04-Jul-14 18:39:43

I had more or less the same as Jingle - but can't feel smug as this was followed by a large choc chip cookie for brunch, bread and various cheeses for lunch, iced banana bread mid pm (new recipe - Mary Berry - had to check it), and have just finished with a salad - only let down by it being a prawn and avocado with loads of sea food dressing - and coleslaw! Not forgetting a rather nice glass of Pinot. blush
