Popping candy doesn't usually taste sweet, so the only effect you would get would be the mini explosions in the mouth.

God! That grin looks even worse with a funny hat on!

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 01-Nov-14 11:10:50

What about all this salted caramel that's so popular these days? Its the opposite of adding a sweet thing to a savoury one. It should be awful but its not.( Hangs head in shame over huge tum!)

I have an ongoing argument with my nephew (who loves pizza) - I say that pineapple on pizza is the work of the devil - he loves it! Pineapple belongs in a bowl with cream on it grin

Who ARE these 'people'?

thatbags Sat 01-Nov-14 09:48:16

I agree about pizzas being over-rated sandwiches, henetha wink

thatbags Sat 01-Nov-14 09:47:31

Norfolk, actually, jings. [tonguestickyout emoti]

Call me old fashioned, but I thought pizza is savoury thing. Can you get sweet ones these days? I'm not a huge fan of pizza anyway, think them over=rated, but do eat one occasionally with grandchildren.
It wouldn't occur to me to put sugar on them. (the pizza, not the grandchildren!). grin

It'll be a Scottish thing Bags. They like their sweet stuff up there. They are trying to turn a pizza into a cake.

papaoscar Sat 01-Nov-14 06:20:55

I remember bread and sugar sandwiches in the old days, or thick brown dripping ones, together with fried baked beans and fried bread. Glorious stuff but not any more.

grannyactivist Sat 01-Nov-14 00:55:37

And I do put salt on my porridge more times than I have sugar on it. (But sometimes I do like both.)

grannyactivist Sat 01-Nov-14 00:54:48

Not on pizza though. Never on pizza. (Am I redeemed?)

grannyactivist Sat 01-Nov-14 00:53:57

Oh dear Nellie - I've always had sugar on my weetabix, is that not usual?. blush

Coolgran65 Sat 01-Nov-14 00:27:16

I know that tomatoes are sometimes eaten/cooked with a little sugar to cut tha acidity but this sounds to be over and beyond that level.

Eloethan Sat 01-Nov-14 00:16:48

I've read that there is a lot of sugar in most bought (savoury) pizzas.

Sweet apple pizza sounds horrible.

FlicketyB Fri 31-Oct-14 22:32:41

We were in Ask yesterday and they were offering a sweet apple pizza for dessert. No, none of us tried it.

Nelliemoser Fri 31-Oct-14 22:16:03

Who does? I can imagine people do though. My sister puts sugar on Weetabix which I find amazing. I do not have a sweet tooth.

NfkDumpling Fri 31-Oct-14 22:10:38

Because it's cheaper than pineapple?

Ana Fri 31-Oct-14 21:59:58

Even worse is that comment 'How fun' thlconfused

vampirequeen Fri 31-Oct-14 21:37:58

Urgh! Never seen that. Hope I never do.

merlotgran Fri 31-Oct-14 21:33:07

Do they? YUK hmm

thatbags Fri 31-Oct-14 21:30:19
