getting into the Christmas spirit! [early]

Not a big fan of Baileys but saw a recipe this morning. Put a good slug of Baileys in a tall glass, top up with double cream and add pretty sprinkles! Bit too rich for me but good for those who like it.

Friend popped in unexpectedly yesterday afternnon with a bottle of prosecco and I had some locally made raspberry essency stuff. Together they made a lovely drink and when the bottle was empty I had completely gone off the idea of wrapping presents!

I once had a recipe for making Baileys........

Advocaat or Bailey's, supercharged with scotch or brandy, has seen me through many a Christmas crisis, relieved by a large Whisky Mac or two when things quietened down. And for emergency use there was always an enormous dark rum and Blackcurrant lurking in the background. Those were the days. Now its just a tiny drop of dry sherry and sip of mineral water.

My sister and I used to have Baileys as 'cooks perks' when we made the Christmas lunch. We didn't give too hoots if anything went wrong !
I think I shall have to test your Tia Maria and Baileys idea Pogs as it sounds rather good. I shall of course have to make sure the proportions are correct which will involve quite a lot of experimentation.

The best Bailey's EVER was the mint one brought out several years ago! Best Christmas drink ever. DIL and I have searched the whole of UK for it. Nowhere to be found but a little glass of the ordinary one good for helping along the wrapping, as is a little glass of dry sherry and carols on my iPad. Happy Christmas everyone.

A nice glass of ginger wine with a good chunk of ice is a nice start to Christmas.

I can't stand anything sweet, so give me a huge G&T any time with cucumber................ooh, it's my 2/5 day and I can't have one - soooo tempting.

I like a Tia Maria and Baileys mixed with ice.

If in Tenerife it's Baileys and Honey Rum with ice. Yumm

DH insists it needs 3 months to "mature" so our sloes are still in the freezer! Have made a cheeky pomegranate vodka as Christmas presents though < maybe for me however>

I should have gone sloe picking and made some; DIL and DS may have made some this year so I will have to raid theirs

Oh thank god it's not just me then!! " Found" last year's bottle of Baileys or what was left of it last week, finished it off so Mr O'Cado brought me another litre and I am sipping it as I write. The thing is I totally associate it with Christmas ,mince pies, Stollen and all things Christmassy!

Baileys is OK but a bit sickly. I'd imagine chocolate Baileys would be even more so...

I think there was a coffee-favoured one we had a couple of years ago.

I'm sure I've seen an advert for chocolate Baileys - or was it just a dream? I would LOVE some!

Made me wish I had a bottle of sloe gin.

I have a recipe somewhere for home made (almost) Baileys. It is made from whisky with condensed (or is it evap?) milk, coffee etc etc. I will look it out if anyone is interested.

I don't like Bailey's; you can't beat Drambuie for a warming tincture. Cheers!

I'm still working through last year's Jura but hope to get another bottle this Christmas. We've already made a start on the port though (needed a pick me up!)

That's the proble, it IS so moreish [like anything nice.] It also goes well with eating a mince pie [another moreish thing.]

Baileys is incredibly "moreish"

Don't know much about advocaat, but they've got some in Lidl.
