Nutribullet - do you have one?

I'm tempted by ads to buy a Nutribullet but, as they're pricey, don't want it to be a five minute wonder that ends up unused in a cupboard (like the juicer that's too much of a faff to use/clean). The Nutribullet does look a good way to use up and add extra whole veggies & fruit to a diet. If you have one, what's your experience? Would you recommend?

I've just seen there was a post a few weeks ago about this so I'll have a read through your comments but still interested if you've bought a Nutribullet recently and have some advice on your experiences, good or bad, to date.

As an aside, am I the only person ever who has not eaten or "drunk" as in a smoothie , kale?

No, definitely not the only one annsixty envy at the thought! In a smoothie.

My DD uses the blender on her Bosch food processor to make smoothies using all sorts of ingredients and it blends extremely well (yes, she does use kale grin and fresh beetroot and spinach!). What the blender won't do, of course, is pulverise nuts, which a NB will do. But the processor itself does pulverise them - in fact she uses it to make nut butters and tahini etc. So I guess, if she wanted to have a smoothie that included nuts, then she could process them first and then add them.
I'm not going to claim that making smoothies this way is as good as using a NB, because I haven't tried one.

I don't have one but DS2 and partner got one a month ago. After he made us a drink with it, I was impressed. I then decided to see if my blender (a part of my cheap food processor that I had never used before) would do the job.
What I have found is that my blender is great for soft, seedless fruits, but it doesn't break down seeds so when I used raspberries and redcurrants (though strawberries are ok), the resulting drink was unpleasant.

My son assures me that he doesn't have this seed problem with the nutribullet, so I guess it must be more effective than my blender and break down the seeds to some extent.

Though maybe a more expensive blender would do a better job than mine!

I keep mine next to the kettle and use it daily. It's great for breaking down seeds and I put in green leaf vegetables with berries, banana etc so I always have at least 7/8 fruit and veg a day. I've had it a couple of months now and can't see me losing interest, especially as it's so easy to clean. You can't taste kale in the drinks. I'd definitely recommend it.

I've got to send mine back but I'm putting it off because I too use mine every day; but it's stll leaking when I use it no matter what I do. There is an offer in Sundays Telegraph in which you can buy a similar one for @ £50 [which hurts cause I bought them for my children for a lot more]. this one is called Nutriblend Pro. Whether it's as good as a Nutribullet I can't say. You really can't taste spinach or kale inthe drinks and I also include green tea which I hate drinking but again you don't really taste it mixed up with everything else. At the moment I'm having the carrot, orange, apple, banana smoothie each day with a bit of cinnamon and honey added. It is really easy to use and clean; I think I've just ben unlucky with mine but the company are very good about replacing it and are going to reimburse me with the postage. Not sure if my children have used theirs or not; if their friends had recommended it they would, but they probably think it's another one of mum's daft ideas.
