A giant asteroid will hit Earth tomorrow, it's your last ever meal, what will you have?
A mild chicken Korma, with peas and fresh sliced tomatoes with a sprinkling of rick salt.
For pud, apple crumble and creamy hot custard.

Razor clams
Blanquette de Veau
Iles flottante
Washed down with a bottle of Krug 2000 Clos du Mesnil.
if I am going I am going with a decent meal inside of me grin

Ooh, oxtail stew... grin Po boy as a starter... grin

I suppose a little taste of everything is perhaps the best way. Wouldn't that be lovely.

Back to the diet. Sigh.

Extra large new leggings for you then!grin

Every kind of ice cream made by Jen's Ice Creams, Gelupo and the entire Sicilian population. The old Waitrose banoffee ice cream which they discontinued and I have never forgiven them.

A red Leicester cheese, pepper chile and red onion chutney toastie.

Parmiggiano, eaten in big bites from an entire wheel.

A proper Southern meal- sun tea, skillet fried chicken, gumbo, biscuits, garden lettuce braised with butter and crowder peas, Brunswick Stew, Laner Cake, Baltimore Cake and Paul Prudhomme's coconut layer cake.

Sent from New Orleans- a Po Boy.

A Cubano sandwich made from real Cuban bread with ham, pickle, cheese. Pressed on the griddle, served hot.

A proper coke in the glass bottle on a broiling hot day. Ice, straw.

A marshmallow melt. Total sickly badass-ness.

Beef carpaccio from Harry's Bar. heavy on the Parmiggiano.

A vat of oxtail stew, lots of garlic, lots of carrots and mashed potato with horseradish.

I don't ask for much do I?

Chips, some more chips, and then some chips. Mmmmmm - not allowed chips, so definitely having them if there's no tomorrow to worry about!

Glad that you all enjoyed a good guzzle, hope that no allergies kicked in, but on the plus side ( and after all that food, we may well be) we find ourselves alive and kicking.Just buy the new leggings in a larger size.grin

I said to DBH the other day, why don't we eat oysters anymore? Looking at me in faint horror he replied 'Because you are ill if you eat them!' grin I suppose I hadn't eaten them for so long I had forgotten I shouldn't.

roses! grin

I'm a bit worried about Marmight and her oyster allergy. Let's hope she decided not to risk them after all...thlhmm

rosesarered Wed 28-Oct-15 12:51:05

Yes, send it to me care of Gransnet, I shall be happy to pay it. I have plenty of Monopoly money in the drawer.smile

annsixty Wed 28-Oct-15 09:38:10

roses do we send the collective bill, for the Gaviscon, last night's paracetomol and this morning's Alka Seltzer to you?

rosesarered Wed 28-Oct-15 09:00:29

Wow! We are here...... No asteroid! phew, and we managed to eat all our fave things as well, that's really having your cake and eating it.smile

stillhere Tue 27-Oct-15 20:30:25

Oh I see! Thank you for that, I was wondering. thlsmile

rosesarered Tue 27-Oct-15 16:31:35

A lot of roasts and also fishy things.A fair amount of fine wines as well. There will be no pain ( asteroid will hit and poufff! we are toast.)No worries about allergies or indigestion either, have whatever you want.If all you want are a few Ritz crackers, that's fine as well.

aha - it's a typo

thlsad (cut and paste - is easier!)

Marmight Tue 27-Oct-15 12:52:58

On 2nd thoughts, I will have the oysters as by the time the allergy effects set in, I will be dead grin

Marmight Tue 27-Oct-15 12:47:26

A plate of seafood minus the oysters and a magnum of Moët to dull the pain. If the asteroid has not struck and there is time, a slice of lemon tart with raspberries washed down with the rest of the Moët. I don't ask for much wink

I was really surprised by the number of xmas-style roasts, but then I realised that people are assuming that family will be with them to share that last day.

Summer pudding is apparently a firm favourite for many - mine, too.

LuckyDucky Tue 27-Oct-15 10:57:07

I'd ring our sons first.

Then we'd have a Christmassy meal = turkey or roast pork with lots of crackling etc., (no sprouts)and finishing with a well-soaked Christmas pudding, brandy cream and a liquor.

Then we'd go upstairs with our chosen liquor, plus cheeses, grapes, and savoury biscuits.

*OK, I've just realised we'd have to imbibe fruit juice first. Wouldn't want alcohol to spoil anything.

While I'm waiting for the meal, crusty bread hot from the oven, dripping with butter. Then, roast turkey and chestnut stuffing, and roast pork with lots of apple sauce, roast parsnips, organic baby sprouts (more tasty), baby carrots and two small roast potatoes to leave room for summer pudding and cream. Finished with filter coffee and a luxury chocolates.

Mamie Tue 27-Oct-15 07:03:27

Foie gras, lobster chips and mayonnaise and something exquisite in dark chocolate. Champagne, a fine red and a priceless brandy.

Balini Mon 26-Oct-15 23:18:03

Should be glass or two

Balini Mon 26-Oct-15 23:17:04

Scotch salmon, crayfish, boiled potatoes and veg. Washed down with a nice glass of Glenlivet single malt. Lovely.

stillhere Mon 26-Oct-15 22:59:02

I knew you wouldn't fail me, galen. I bet all your oysters have pearls in them, too.

Galen Mon 26-Oct-15 22:50:26

Oysters, caviar, smoked salmon and langoustines
