I do eat smaller portions now I'm older. I very rarely finish a main course when eating out and have stopped ordering a starter.
It annoys me that some places won't let you order a childs meal.

I'm with you about the ridiculous rules about child's meals in some places, nina. I have a small appetite anyway, and am completely turned off by some of the huge adult portions on offer...

When I go to our local pub for Sunday lunch I have a child's chicken dinner - more than enough for me.

I used to be a big eater and it took a while to get used to smaller portions. I agree about the huge adult portions in pubs but round here this seems to be in the ones where it's 'chips and salad' with everything.

The nicer class of pub/restaurant ( I have my Margot Leadbetter voice on now) serve sensible portions.

Instead of a plateful of chips you get about six in a wire basket for double the price grin

I reported it because it should be on Media.

I have often ordered a child's fish n chips meal in a chippie we sometimes go to for lunch. The normal sized one Is huge and there are way too many chips. The owner doesn't mind, actually the child's one is often too big as well!
