Thanks all, I made the pasta with a tiny bit of the soup and some ketchup - it tasted just like the tinned stuff! So satisfied my cravings after all.

Have the soup first, then pie and chips. No pasta.

Of all the choices listed there I could only eat the chips.

Why don't you pour the soup over the pie, like gravy?

How did that happen? confused I didn't do it.

Oh yes! Of course it is! I did read it but it left my head immediately. hmm

Extra chips then. That'll do it nicely. smile

I think the point is, jings, that clematisa doesn't have the tin of spaghetti.

I would have the chips and the tin of spaghetti with the pie. Forget about the soup. Have that for lunch tomorrow.

Thanks Aggie, I think it just might be the taste of the soup that I'm craving so maybe I should do two courses, lol, tomato soup then the pie, etc. ... or maybe it's a Scottish thing? Just didn't fancy beans or peas tonight and I'm saving the potato to bake for tomorrow night's dinner - though what I'll decide to have in it by then is anyone's guess!

sounds horrible , have a baked potato instead of Spaghetti . If you must have the spag , grate cheese over it ...... but NOT the soup

Bought a pie to have for my dinner tonight and fancied some chips and a tin of spaghetti - only to find I haven't a tin in the house...
I do have spaghetti and the "famous tomato soup" - do you think I could make a similar tasting version?
Or has anyone else found themselves in a similar position and had to be creative?
I think it must be the weather that's making me crave comfort food!
