Shredded Wheat

Does anyone else who eats Shredded Wheat think they have suddenly become less substantial? I alternate between SW and porridge and when I opened a new pack today they seemed lighter and much less bulky, I always crush them and the biscuit almost broke without any pressure from me and it went very mushy quickly in the ice cold milk... I stopped eating Corn Flakes for the same reason they just became thin and went mushy almost straight away in the milk, I prefer my cereal to stay crunchy.

So annoying I'd rather they put the price up slightly rather than change the recipe and make it uneatable.

I don't like shredded wheat, so can't comment, but know exactly what you mean about things looking the same but , thinner, smaller, different taste etc. It's annoying.

I've returned to shredded wheat as part of my attempt to reduce the sugar in m diet. The certainly seem smaller and less sustainable but, it's years since I ate them. At ha time I'd hav had three with full cream milk and sugar ?

They have probably carried out some market research and are consequentially "dumbing down" the stuff to appeal to the masses protect their share of the market.

Can't digest wholewheatmyself anymore. sad Ready Brek without sugar for me now.

I love Shredded Wheat but don't understand why on Slimming World you have to 'count' it but not Weetabix - must be something to do with its lower fibre content. DH says its a bowl of hay.

Must just be me then , I much prefer Crunchy Nut Corn Flakes or Sugar Puffs but also went back to Shredded Wheat to cut down on the sugar and salt... can't say they are the nicest tasting cereal but needs must when you are borderline diabetic grin whether my efforts actually make any difference is anyones guess.
