I managed to nab the last pot of this stuff in Tesco. But what do I do with it?

It's bubbling away on the hob but is taking ages to absorb the water. It's still "crumby".

I was hoping to make a pizza base.

What else can I do with it? Any bright ideas?

Throw it in the bin
Sit down with a nice cup of tea and a cupcake !

No instructions on the pot?

If this is what you're making gettingonabit detoxinista.com/2012/01/the-secret-to-perfect-cauliflower-pizza-crust/ the recipe says to boil the caulk rice for 4-5 minutes. It isn't meant to absorb the water! hmm

Is it cauli rice? If so look on 5:2 diet forums for ideas and recipes.

Use cauliflower rice a lot, but never tried this...confused

I think I'm on a parallel universe. I've no idea what your all talking about blush

nina I didn't know what everyone was on about either, until I noticed people on the web raving about its low carb properties. I'm trying to cut down on bread products so thought it'd be ideal.

Well, I've made a pizza. It took the addition of a egg, flour and oil to get it to hang together, so it's not as low calorie as i thought....never mind, it was actually quite tasty.

Off to google the 5:2 recipes now.

I think life's too short for this. grin

Next time I'll follow hildas recipe. If there's a next time.

Easiest to microwave it with salt and butter.

a quick stir-fry with a drop of oil ,to soften it up a bit, then use like cooked rice.

We buy a cauliflower, break up the flower bit, zap it in the food processor then put it in a bowl, cover with cling film, prick a few holes in the cling film and then microwave it for about 7 minutes. I love it as an alternative to rice (far less calories). You can add a few spices if you find it a bit bland. Never tried the pizza thing though.

As they say "Your never too old to learn" smile

KatyK that sounds tasty...... Now I just need to convince H !

I made Ottolenghi's cauliflower rice fritters the other day. Very tasty, but a bit of a faff as with many of his recipes. No problems though. Other alternatives to rice are amaranth and quinoa which are higher in protein so, I assume, lower in carbs. Not a nutritionist so not sure of my facts here.

What happens to the cauliflower stalks?

I think I'll stick to cauliflower cheese ( with broccoli, carrot or any other veg lying around).

I put mine in the microwave for 6 minutes then when cool mix in 2 eggs put on baking parchment and spread out to look like a pizza. Cook 20 mins 200 then top with pizza topping back in the oven10 mins lovely - good luck

I've managed to make another pizza base today, with more success, and minus the egg!

Loving the ideas-thanks!!

But why would you want to ?!confused

I've tried cauliflower rice and mash, although DH didn't like the mash so much. Very handy if you are on a low carb diet but I think it's just as easy to stick with califlower cheese.
