Yes, it was (is?) popular in South Africa for sporting events where alcohol was not allowed.

I have just seen Jane Fonda (in Franke and Grace Netwflix- she doesn't pop round) empty a bottle of vodka which she took from the freezer into a watermelon - anyone done that?
