I bought some Crunchie bars last week, as I needed them to provide the surface for my DGS2's monster truck arena birthday cake (as you do). I swore down to DH that I wouldn't eat the 5 spare ones as I've never liked Crunchies, but mysteriously there is now only 1 left. I actually thought they tasted much better than I remembered grin

I think we have 2 threads on Cadbury
Is it possible @ HQ to put them together?

I meant Cadbury's no longer British in the sense that it's no longer made here. Sadly. However it's no great surprise that Kraft didn't honour their promisesad.

Hmm I think you might find Lidl and Aldi chocolate German or Swiss .

I haven't bought any Cadbury's chocolate since it was taken over by Kraft and they went back on their word to keep the Keynsham factory open. A minor protest I know and one which makes not an iota of difference to Kraft but I feel like I am supporting all those workers who lost their jobs.

Yes, suzied. There's always been something a bit nicer imho about British chocolate. Much as I love Lindor etc it tastes rather European! Not sure what I mean by that, really!

Cadburys isn't strictly chocolate anymore is it, it's cocoa flavoured palm oil solids or some such. Lidl and Aldi have much better chocolate and it's the real thing.

Yes, it's different. Greasy and tasteless. A good reason not to eat it!

However Lidl white chocolate.....beats Cadbury hands down and is tons cheaper.

It's since Kraft took it over imho.

Since they were taken over it just isn't "Cadbury's" any more sad Cocoa-cutting I imagine, it tastes of nothing now and is just sickly sweet and cloying.

Have gone off most British chocolate, some years ago thye began adding more and more sugar ( presumably cost cutting) Cadbury is the very worst, their Roses chocs are ghastly, nothing like 20 years ago.

Seems to be more oily and sickly sweet to me. Hasn't got a nice choccy flavour any more.

I've never been keen on Cadbury's chocolate, so probably woudn't notice the difference.
