Hubby just suggested he go to our favourite Fish shop for fish and chip supper tonight I won't argue with that grin

Whats everyone else having? I imagine many will be a lot more ambitious than us.

Wow that's amazing. We also had a home made dinner by my hubby.

rubysong Sat 24-Dec-16 23:22:42

Pizza, chips and beans on our laps on trays as the dining table is set for tomorrow and the kitchen table is covered with stuff (prepared veg. Stuffing balls etc.). Giblets are now boiling and I'm off for a large sherry. Merry Christmas all.

All the family arrived for a pot-luck supper; that is the supper was unplanned and everyone just brought something to the table.

As ever, it worked just fine tchsmile

Scrambled eggs, smoked salmon flakes and a cool Sauvignon Blanc.
Flying visit from dd2 delivering my Christmas Eve pj's. Dinner tomorrow with DD1.

Roses chocolates ( all the ones I like)
Quality Street ( all the ones I like)
A big pot of tea with mince pies
Oh dear, never mind I will compensate tomorrow with lots of brussel sprouts

Tomorrow we are having our Christmas meal with lots of friends and we share the preparation and cooking. The hostess is cooking the turkey and I have made the Christmas puddings and will do the custard and I also will do the Brussels - I stir fry them with lardons and leeks. So this evening we went up to our hostess and assisted with getting the table ready for tomorrow - will be 14 of us- and then we had a jacket potato with wonderful prawns and ham followed by a buche - fancy French swissroll thing - just lovely start to the festivities.

Beans on marmite toast - letting the side down.

Had planned to maybe have a mince pie or two but still recovering. after a very sociable Christmas Eve lunch of soup, salad and Christmas Pud.

Charleygirl Sat 24-Dec-16 20:23:32

Coolgran65 Sat 24-Dec-16 20:14:00

Saving ourselves for tomorrow smile

Just finished wrapping, why do I leave some until this time every year? Curry now, which DH made earlier. Happy Christmas everyone.

GrandmaMoira Sat 24-Dec-16 19:39:56

My son has made tapas which was very nice, especially as it's rare for anyone else to cook. We normally have gammon Xmas eve. I used to do a curry with lots of dishes but stopped when I had to work Xmas eve. Nowadays my DGDs are often here on Xmas eve and they're not keen on curry though I'm retired now.

Enjoying a bit of down time having just helped DD with food prep for tomorrow. We had supper by the fire watching Carols from Kings. Fish Pie and a chilled glass of Sauvignon Blanc.

Perfick!

Lasagne, garlic bread and melted chocolate dessert.

annsixty Sat 24-Dec-16 19:13:17

Rib eye steak from M&S with fries and mushrooms. H sniffed all through and left more than he ate. Said he would rather have had a chicken breast. Alzheimer's has taken all his taste and appreciation. I wonder why I bother but do it for myself. Just roast chicken tomorrow to suit him?

Niobe Sat 24-Dec-16 19:05:24

Stir fried vegetables, prawns, noodles and a chilli sauce courtesy of M&S. Very different from Xmas lunch and there is an unopened (so far) box of Thorntons waiting but not feeling like opening it yet!

grannyqueenie Sat 24-Dec-16 18:14:04

I'm enjoying being hosted tonight by our youngest, who's single with no children, so it's a very grown up "do" with just the 3 of us. So far prosecco and a tasty bruschetta starter with pan fried seabass on the way....I'm not allowed anywhere near the kitchen...perfect tchsmile

BBbevan Sat 24-Dec-16 18:12:55

Just had M&S, southern fried chicken with salad and a few dates. Everyone else had chicken in a bun with trimmings.

Greyduster Sat 24-Dec-16 18:11:44

Salad with a cut off the ham and some sausage rolls straight from the oven!

whitewave Sat 24-Dec-16 18:03:50

Christmas spice casserole with beef and venison. Eaten it already, enough to freeze for another meal and some for Mum.

ginny Sat 24-Dec-16 17:58:28

We are all off to the local Chinese restaurant. It's a family tradition on Christmas Eve.

Pittcity Sat 24-Dec-16 17:56:51

Macaroni cheese because the creme fraiche I use to make the cheese sauce had tomorrow as the use by date! DH is using the bread left from lunch to make garlic bread. We have cracked open the vino too.
