This kitchen equipment seems to be very useful and robust according to users, and it may be just me, but I wouldn't be happy about spending over £900 on equipment that only appears to be available via personal demonstrators and not any retail outlets. You can buy a jolly good cooker for that price.

Is your kitchenaid your DH Nana?

I love a good gadget but I don't think I could justify the price. Now my Kitchenaid is a whole different matter :-)

I have a friend who loves food but is a dreadful cook, she has a Thermomix and loves it, she uses it almost every day.
When she had a two week holiday last year, I borrowed it to find out whether I'd like one.
Yes, it's impressive, but it didn't tempt me at all, it certainly didn't do anything that a good human cook can't do!
It's not something that I'd consider buying, it's not the expense, I'm the idiot who pays £299 for a Dyson hairdryer (worth every penny too)! Pound for pound the Thermomix is probably better value, due to the number of things it does, as opposed to just drying hair, but I don't want one!

I appreciate all your comments. Because of its cost,it's not easy to bring it yo in "ordinary" chat. I'm surprised it isn't more known in this country,as it's so popular abroad,even given as Wedding presents in some. I can only think bescause it's sold through demonstration parties,which are essential or else I certainly wouldn't make good use of it.

My daughter had one, it's been great for family, she made her own baby food, uses for baking cooking etc. Hers is about 10 years old but they see it as an investment and it has travelled abroad with her, fortunately there are agents around so it has been fixed a couple of times. Daughter values it so highly she took it as her hand luggage!

I also googled it and I would need to empty my kitchen to fit it all in and at that price I wouldn't even consider it.

I also had never heard of it and googled it. It is too big for my kitchen and it is far too expensive- I would not give it a thought at that price.

I have one and I love it, chilly winter finds me using it daily. My small kitchen gadgets were timing out, Thermomix replaced most at one go.

I have one too and love it. When I first had it I used it non-stop in my enthusiasm. Then I calmed down and don't feel obliged to use it every day to justify the expense! I bought it on very strong recommendation from my son, who loves his gadgets.

I went to a demonstration and was completely won over - thought it was wonderful.
Unfortunately I can't justify the expense and so will not be getting one.
