Recipe Subscription boxes

I started getting HelloFresh boxes about 6 months ago, usually get a box every 3/4 weeks if I know I'm going to have a busy week or feeling too lazy for planning/shopping. Meals are usually quick to make, average about 30 minutes and a bit more adventurous than my usual staples

Coincidentally DD was discussing this with me this morning. As she said, it doesn't stop you cooking ...and I love cooking.... but it gives you the ingredients you need on a one off basis. When I saw your posting I Googled Gousto and the main problem seemed to be the smallest box was a 2 person one, and at the best option (4 days recipes) it worked out at £5.25 per serving. I know I spend probably too much of my pension on groceries but I can plan a week's meals with the help of Google , get it deliverd from one of the Big Five and with my fridge and freezer achieve the same thing. On the pro side you don't need to stock up on herbs and spices I guess, but they keep well anyway and I couldn't live without a well stocked cupboard . Horses for courses I suppose.

One daughter in law subscribes to Hello Fresh. It works for her but I must admit when I look at the ingredients I always want to add more vegetables. Maybe I just eat too many [smile.
