I just use all my usual casserole and stew recipes.

Lakeland has a couple of their own slow cooker recipe book, I have them I rather like them....but as a rule I can be a bit boring with my slow cooker, if I'm on a long shift I just put meat, various root veg , lentils in a gravy/ stock so it's something nutritious for us

You don't really need a slow cooker book as you can adapt ordinary recipes, using less liquid. Both my dds use their slow cookers a lot but neither has a book.

I use the internet for a lot of recipes now, which helps in my perennial battle against clutter!

I use a slow cooker to make rice pudding. I don't buy pudding rice - but organic short brown rice. My grandchildren love rice pudding for a snack after school and I manage to get some healthy whole grains, skim milk, and fruit in their tummies. I also use my SC often for Balti chicken or pork. Onion or mushroom soup are other favorites. Nothing really for recipes, just low slow cooking without worry of stirring.

grannyjaq1 like tanith, I now tend to try just about anything on my slow cooker. If you're on Facebook, there are many slow cooker recipe groups, just do a search.

You could try Parragon Publishing's cheap and cheerful Slow Cooker (ISBN 1-40545-119X).

We also don't seem to have any competitions other than books lately or am I imagining that?

I tend to just make up recipes for my slow cooker anything goes grin

James Martin has one. He did a Q&A on Gransnet to promote it.

Those were the days when we had regular webchats and Q&A threads.

Whatever happened?

Depending on the size of your slow cooker, I like this cookbook. Many of the recipes are for 6.5L cookers. www.amazon.co.uk/Slow-Cooking-Easy-Cooker-Recipes/dp/0007288239?tag=gransnetforum-21#reader_B0036FOGWY

I've just invested in a slow cooker. Can anyone recommend a good recipe book?
