Anyone else enjoying this TV series? I have bought the accompanying book and tried several of the recipes. Unfortunately the most appealing are the cakes and desserts! I am not a lover of spicy food but I have bought a few of the 'sprinkles' that she uses, like sumac and onion seeds, as well as the 'magic' basil seeds. I never knew that they could turn a fruit puree into jam! I look forward to trying the rhubarb and custard ice cream sandwiches or salted peanut tart with potato crisp shell next time the family come for a meal.
Anyone else enjoying the programme, and have you tried any of the recipes?

I'm loving the programme, mostly Nadiya I think. Not tried any recipes though. Let us know how you get on.

I've got some onion seeds though which I fry with mustard seeds and then potatoes. Never thought of anything else I could do with them!

Yes we are enjoying this.

I love the show too.

I tried to buy some basil seeds yesterday but no one has got them. Where did you get yours Sally please ?

I bought them on Ebay, Kate. In her book she mentions that Chia seeds will do the same job.

We really enjoy the show but we're disappointed with the book. It is beautifully presented but there is little in it for vegetarians.

Why on earth was she togged up to the armpits in waders when she was reluctant to even paddle?

She needs to beware of Silly Presenter Syndrome.

Lol merlotgran, she was probably told to wear them....I flicked through her book in a shop but didn't fancy it.....I'm not struck on her, the dreadful cake she made for the Royal birthday ??.
I doubt if all the recipes in her book are from her either, she must of had a great deal of help putting it together. She probably doesn't know as much about food as a lot of us! John Thwaite is another one who isn't much cop..... Like with a lot of these cook show winners ....and runner ups lol.....

She's very likeable. Interesting that last years winner has just disappeared. I never warmed to her in the same way.

jane She hasn't! She might not be getting the national attention but I was just reading the other day how much she has earned and benefited from the win.

She's got a book out, of course (Candice Brown). www.dorsetecho.co.uk/leisure/foodanddrink/features/15468930.Bake_Off__39_s_Candice_Brown_provides_the_home_comforts/

I watched an episode of her programme when I was in the UK recently. (The one where she made doughnuts for the jam people).

She certainly has an infectious enthusiasm.

Didn't know there was a book. May look into that!

Candice hasn't become a national celebrity in the way Nadiya has. She's had several series now as well as appearing on game shows not related to cookery at all. I enjoyed her programme when she went back to Bangladesh too.

I've only seen bits of her program, but I find Nadiya delightful, but I didn't warm to Candice, in fact I seem to remeber she wasn't popular with viewers while she was on GBBO?
