H used to cook us both a full English.
Back bacon, sausages, fried bread with fried egg on top, mushrooms and beans, H would also have fried toms.
I can't eat all that now, I will occasionally have double fried egg on toast, or we sometimes have kippers.
H loves when we are away and he can get his full English.

As above, with tomatoes and mushrooms.

Bacon, egg, hash browns and toast - with lots of coffee!

Possibly haddock or kippers?

For me, a cooked breakfast ideas follows:
Bacon
Sausage
Fried egg
Fried tomatoes
Fried mushrooms
Baked beans, and if possible, potato scones.
Yummy, but only once in a while.

I like to think of a cooked breakfast as part of a deconstructed Full English so you can have it more frequently.

Grilled bacon and tomatoes is my favourite. DH likes fried eggs whereas I can't eat eggs early in the morning. Scrambled eggs, mushrooms on toast, sausages......Yummy but having them all together is something I can longer face

I read somewhere that the upper classes never refer to a cooked breakfast as a Full English as it's considered vulgar. grin

same as you *daddima" NEVER beans ,I do like a fried tomato but never the tinned you sometimes get in hotels

Shysal, Lorne sausage ( also known as square or sliced sausage) is a Scottish delicacy, also popular on a roll with brown sauce!

Suppose what I would call a cooked breakfast is known as a full English. What is actually on the plate depends on what you like. I would have sausage, bacon, poached egg on toast, grilled tomato, mushrooms and, not on offer nowadays, lamps kidneys. Definitely no beans, ugh, black pudding, double ugh, or hash browns. (A bacon sarnie is a bacon sarnie, end of),

Four rashers of streaky, a fried egg, fried tomato and/or mushrooms, fried bread and a bottle of brown sauce.

A full English breakfast......two rashers of lean bacon, two fried eggs, fried tomatoes and either a slice of fried bread or buttered toast.Nothing else.

I would include eggs, tomatoes or mushrooms on toast, but not a bacon sandwich.

What is Lorne Sausage Daddima?

Daddima Tue 05-Dec-17 12:39:15

For me, it means the full fried business, eggs, bacon, Lorne sausage, black pudding, potato scones and mushrooms, but DEFINITELY NO BEANS!
I wouldn’t count toast, boiled or scrambled eggs, bacon sandwiches etc.
What say you?
