I have a friend who always has the same thing for breakfast every day ( weetabix with milk and sugar and a banana)now that is very nice, but I couldn’t have the same thing every morning day in day out.
I like to ring the changes so have all manner of things, marmalade on ryvitas or toast, cereal ( bran flakes or porridge or cornflakes with a scattering of dried fruit on)
Poached or scrambled eggs, a bacon roll, croissants, fruitbread, and even now and again pancakes. If I have a favourite amongst those it’s marmalade toast with a huge mug of tea.?
What’s your favourite?

I generally only like breakfast when we are on holiday. Any other time I can be seen pushing one weetabix around a bowl, hoping that the ground will open up and swallow it so that I don’t have to! However, while DH was chomping his way through his usual enormous bowl of muesli, I decided I would open a tin of sild in tomato sauce and have them on toast. Very nice!

I'm on a lot of painkillers at the moment following knee replacement surgery and am suitably bunged up so it's porridge and tinned prunes ( in juice) for me for the foreseeable future! Usually I would eat anything I fancied for breakfast.

Lemon Not sure if you would call it exactly the same breakfast every morning

Usually Tesco's jumbo oats.
Usually Aldi Vanilla yogurt
But then I do manage to ring the changes
by adding a different fruit every morning.
This Morning it was mixed berries.
Tomorrow it will possibly be fresh pineapple (57p in Tesco).
Even if we were having a different breakfast at the weekend, I would still have this first (suppose I'm a little greedy.blush)
I also like to use the same bowl,

Starting the 18:6 eating plan 1st Feb.
But would rather have my breakfast at a later, than miss it out!

Small grab of walnuts and a coffee does me perfectly every day.

Katydid, good to hear what an instant pot is, might get myself one. At a guess I thought an instant pot was like those pots of instant noodles that you can buy but porridge!

Porridge with fruit (frozen in winter, fresh when in season). I use Scott's Original Porridge Oats, add a little bit of syrup. 2 mins in microwave. 2 x Cups of weak Marmite. Small glass of fruit juice.

If I'm going out early I will have toast sometimes with Marmalade depending on the type of bread. I like to be up for at least, 1 hour before I eat , sometimes longer.

When I visit DM I have Jordan's Crispy Crunch (other brands are availablegrin) with fruit juice. I hate the taste of yogurt & milk (except in coffee).

At least five out of seven it’s porridge, with linseed, blueberries & milk.
Our other go to, are marmalade on seeded bread, the odd day maybe nothing, or sometimes it’s out the door with a banana!
Then on average every couple of months we will be a fry up.

Anniebach an Instant Pot is an electric pressure cooker cum slow cooker. It does all sorts and is highly recommended.

Can I change that from breakfast to breakfasts?I have strange meal times that come with living on my own and breakfast/s being my favourite meal.
Breakfast one at eight am is two cups tea while making my large bowl of porridge with soya milk.
Breakfast two at eleven am is two slices of toast butter and marmalade or honey followed by two cups of coffee made with semi skim milk.Lunch is when I am hungry, no particular time, the same applies to my evening meal and whatever I fancy.
Nankate try drinking a minimum of six glasses water through the day that should prevent your stomache cramps that the porridge you mention or other oat cereals can cause.

Usually a protein breakfast as I am not very good with gluten. Two eggs every day when we are away in the winter and back home, well not good at eating much before 11 so I tend to have just a cup of coffee then when I am out and about a cup of coffee, a slice of toast and a portion of baked beans. Same price as coffee and a cake but better for you. Annibach, think an instant pot is one of those pots of instant porridge that you just pop into the microwave. Usually have a fair bit of sugar in them.

Amazing all this porridge!
Me too.

Scotts, or whatever 3 minutes in the microwave, stirred with unsweetened almond milk and pound land chopped dates ( highly recommend) and a sprinkling of cinnamon.
occasionally I ring the changes and have cinnamon and maple syrup.

Just remembered that my childhood fav was always either porridge that 'floated' when surrounded by milk or comforting bread and milk with somewhat stale unsliced bread cut into chunky cubes. I still have it now and again, also Farleys rusks (original) It's hard to find the double (18) packs. I like 6 in a bowl with warm milk. Yummy.

kircubbin2000 Sun 28-Jan-18 13:12:41

Flahavans porridge ,cooked for 1 minute add honey and milk.I prefer the coarse organic pack but it's not always available

adaunas Sun 28-Jan-18 13:06:41

Tea-unless swimming early (6.30 ish) in which case an egg and bacon McMuffin and orange juice. Otherwise we have brunch about 10.30 which lasts us till 5.30. It’s not set in stone so sometimes we have porridge oats.

jura2 Sun 28-Jan-18 13:06:37

You'll never guess lol

Muesli and half-fat milk with a little cinnamon sugar, and black coffee.

GabriellaG Sun 28-Jan-18 13:04:29

Today, I had a cappucino, went for a run (always reluctantly) then made scrambled chilli and chive eggs on toasted homemade sourdough and a hot choc made with milk.
Often have full fat Greek style yogurt with Lizi's treacle granola topped with a sliced banana and blueberries...a big serving as I don't have anything else until 6.30. Thin pancakes with honey and lemon or Dorset cereals gingerbread porridge with single cream and a small sprinkle of demerara sugar ...sooo many options. ?

Most days it’s two slices of wholemeal toast and marmite, a couple of baby tomatoes and a Babybel.

If I’m working I take a container of home made fruit salad (kiwi, satsumas, melon, pineapple, etc etc) or sometimes a tub of instant porridge- Tesco’s cinnamon one is really good.

And sometimes it’s a trip to Greggs for a roll and sausage.

sandelf Sun 28-Jan-18 12:46:38

1/2 grapfruit, porridge half milk/water, blob of Greek yoghurt, 2 mugs millky coffee and a couple of Sudoku! I like routine for breakfast.

rizlett Sun 28-Jan-18 12:38:07

3 teaspoons of porridge made with water - 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil to make it creamy - 1 banana and some frozen berries [redcurrants are best] from the freezer - no sweetener needed.

luluaugust Sun 28-Jan-18 12:34:41

Porridge with fruit or grapefruit, slice of toast and marmalade. Only fried breakfast if we are away.

Overthehills Sun 28-Jan-18 12:31:21

Bran flakes and blueberries, and rasps if on offer, with almond milk. Or homemade granola with the same. But all this talk of porridge makes me think I’ll have that for a change.
If we go out for breakfast DH will have the full Scottish and I’ll have an egg roll. Have recently discovered that our local place does porridge so will try that.
