I have a friend who always has the same thing for breakfast every day ( weetabix with milk and sugar and a banana)now that is very nice, but I couldn’t have the same thing every morning day in day out.
I like to ring the changes so have all manner of things, marmalade on ryvitas or toast, cereal ( bran flakes or porridge or cornflakes with a scattering of dried fruit on)
Poached or scrambled eggs, a bacon roll, croissants, fruitbread, and even now and again pancakes. If I have a favourite amongst those it’s marmalade toast with a huge mug of tea.?
What’s your favourite?

Doesn't vary much: 2 marmite rice cakes, spread with quark and cucumber slices, fruit juice (varies a lot) and lemon tea.
I usually have cheese on toast on a Sunday and some days I have no breakfast at all

If I am away I will eat whatever is on offer.

Nan Kate - in a bowl, Scott's Original porridge oats, a handful of sultanas, cover with water, bung in microwave for three minutes, add milk and sometimes a banana.
I have that every day throughout the year.

Boiled egg with wholemeal toast is my favourite. I also always have fruit for breakfast, whatever is in season. I ring the changes with smashed avocado on toast, or muesli soaked in almond milk with crushed linseeds. Sometimes I have a coffee but not always. The other thing I do is have scrambled egg with my GD when she comes to stay as it's her favorite. My GS loves sausages so I keep him company with them when he stays. Nice to not always have the same for breakfast every day, I think it would become boring!

Weetabix mushed up in warm milk as I have a problem with my mouth and eating. Sadly taste too so it’s pretty horrible, but I can get it down, with a cup of coffee

Cheese spread on toast or jam on toast are my favourite. I don't like cereal

Porridge, honey and sunflower seeds, every day summer and winter. It is tasty and filling. The only time I don't is if we are going out for an early lunch. I'm definitely not a creature of habit but I love my porridge.

Two slices of cold ham with two poached eggs, sometimes with stewed fruit and low sugar granola and toast This sees me through to supper time except for the odd toasted crumpet.

I can't face eating at the conventional breakfast time, so my "breakfast" tends to be eaten at around 11am. I therefore switch between late breakfast food or early lunch food. (As someone else said, it sits well with the 16:8 method of eating.)

Usually though, I do overnight oats (porridge oats, layered with greek natural yogurt and frozen fruits), or VERY crispy bacon in a VERY soft white roll, or, if I am feeling very indulgent and "sod the diet", I will have two very flaky croissants.

If it's early lunch food, it's usually a jacket potato (from the canteen at work - I don't go shoving jacket potatoes in at 9.30am on the offchance that I will fancy one!), or a baguette of some kind, or some home made soup from my latest "I'm in love with" gadget - my soup maker.

Always Bran Flakes with linseeds and coffee ground from beans with goat's milk.

Jalima1108 Sun 28-Jan-18 11:52:57

Porridge or poached egg on toast
In the summer I may have yogurt and fruit quite often

This morning I had two large Scotch pancakes with butter (Sunday treat).

Having just come off morphine patches I am relishing a change in breakfast, from All bran and prunes everyday I can now eat what I want!!! For anyone whose never used morphine regularly it has certain unwanted side effects!!!

I have granary or other brown toast with marmalade, porridge, cereal. Like home-made fruit juice, but my diabetic nurse has said not allowed, even though it's a machine which keeps all the fruit fibre. Occasionally ignore her and go ahead anyhow. And herb tea or sometimes a Tassimo coffee pod. This morning I had fruit granola with coconut/almond milk and a hot choc pod. I will have my banana for lunch with a marmite sarny and for supper a bowl of home-made soup, a couple of slices of bread and a vegan fruit jelly or yoghurt (probably the latter). Then bedtime a herb tea or maybe a hot vegan milk. Lovely!

My doctor warned me off weetabix, it has rather a lot of salt in it.

Always a protein source (egg, beans, cheeses, yogurt or ham, etc.) needed for brain work. Studies show that with only carbs and fats cognition is not at its best.

16:8 diet ....what is that?

inishowen Sun 28-Jan-18 11:46:47

I have tea and two slices of toast. I can't vary from that. It's just what I fancy in the mornings. DH has a great variety of breakfasts but I refuse to join in with tomatoes on toast, or fruit chopped up in cereal!

A fruit and veg smoothie every morning made in my Nutribullit.
I make it very thick and it fills me up until lunch time.

Craftycat Sun 28-Jan-18 11:42:48

Toast & Marmite ideally or sometimes porridge but as on low carb diet since Christmas I am having an Avocado. A cup of good coffee too. I have 2 cups of tea before I get out of bed without fail every day.

Most days Tescos Scottish Porridge Oats, 30g zapped in the microwave several times with water and a pinch of salt. Eaten with sweetner and cinnamon. I'm a gold Weightwatcher. I like the porridge as solid as possible smile. Once a week or so 2 weetabix also with water and sweetner. I saw someone on tv do it with water and now don't like milk on it. I would love toast and marmalade too but have to count the Weightwatcher points. If I very rarely stay in a hotel with a breakfast buffet I go mad! Cereal, fruit, bacon, egg, sausage, toast, marmalade, croissant, danish...2 pots of black tea, ask for hot water to make it weaker. I can gain 5lbs in one non-weightwatching weekend.

NanKate I have porridge every day for breakfast and the brand I like the best is Flahavan's Irish Porridge Oats Original. They sell it in my local Tesco. It takes just three minutes in the microwave and is best if you then leave it a minute to stand before eating it. Its just 100% oats, no sugar or additives, but of course you can serve it with anything you like (blueberries in my case).

KatyK Sun 28-Jan-18 11:32:19

Porridge with fruit every week day (with a view to being healthy). At the weekend I treat myself to something different.

moobox Sun 28-Jan-18 11:29:12

One thing a day plus coffee. Every other day it will be something toasted, and the other days alternate between porridge and a choice from about 3 cereals i have

Urmstongran Sun 28-Jan-18 11:28:14

We had boil in bag kippers yesterday with uncut Hovis & butter, about 10am. Delicious!
This morning, Weetabix with hot milk (nice and mushy!) then toast and thick cut marmalade.
Friday was boiled eggs & crumpets.
Nice to ri g the changes....

Hm999 Sun 28-Jan-18 11:26:49

Tea and porridge if I'm organised. Tea and 2 slices of toast (1 marmite, 1 marmalade) if I'm not.

Anniebach Sun 28-Jan-18 11:23:54

May I ask what is an Instant Pot?
