I was really disappointed when Force wheatflakes was discontinued and there’s nothing new that’s comparable.

Jan T8, come to dinner here tomorrow because that's what we've got!
It's not something we have very often, maybe every 8 weeks, but in this weather it's very comforting! I can't believe I actually look forward to it, because as a child I hated liver. Taste buds change with time.

I used to love Kunzle cakes in their chocolate cup case.

Cream in a tin. Used to buy it at Sainsbury's. Very useful to have in reserve in the cupboard.

I miss being able to buy bricks of ice-cream. They came in two sizes and I bought the oblong wafers to make the ice-cream sandwiches. You could get plain vanilla or stripey green/strawberry and vanilla or choc/strawb/vanilla.
My favourite brand was Pendleton's Italian.

Heinz Vegetable Salad in a tin. Haven't seen it for years and it was yummy.

St Ivel Gold spread - my daughter and I still reminisce longingly over that on hot toast

Love liver and onions with mashed potatoes and veg. It’s the only time I would eat mash (apart from on the top of shepherds pie) with lots of lovely onion-y gravy.
Think that will have to go on this weeks shopping list!

M&S kedgeree and Sainsbury's Jaffa cake ice cream in a tub. No cake but it had the same tasting orange sauce and dark choc swirls in a lush vanilla ice-cream.

Definitely miss Force wheatflakes. Brown & Polson custard ans Symingtons soups.

Wow!! I used to buy Force, the most recent time was in Tesco circa 1998.

Hollycat I used to eat those pork chops all the time in the 70s, didn’t really notice when the kidney disappeared but does anyone eat kidney and liver these days I wonder? I must say I don’t anymore

Fox's extra large and thick arrowroot biscuits

Pearlsaminger Tue 27-Feb-18 11:16:25

Nutty bars.... a huge finger of fudge with peanuts stuck all around it...

I don’t know why I crave it so much, it was discontinued so long ago and I’ve developed a peanut allergy since then so couldn’t have it anyway hmm grin

Bulmers organic cider ((I think it was called) only around for about a year and was about 10 years ago or so. Only about 3% alcohol which is how I like it so I can have 2 drinks. I don't want to have the no-alcohol stuff. It also had a lovely fresh taste

HootyMcOwlface Tue 27-Feb-18 11:12:11

Morrison's Honey Cornflakes (no nuts!)

strawberrinan Tue 27-Feb-18 11:08:57

Superwhip synthetic ice cream.
Tasty Tatties. Frozen cubes of potato, peas and onions in a lovely coating.

Griselda Tue 27-Feb-18 11:03:34

A very long time ago - Haza tomato sauce. When I was little I couldn't eat a fried egg without it.

Lupatria Tue 27-Feb-18 11:00:53

lamb rissoles - findus i think. they had pearl barley in them as well as the lamb - delicious.
instant whip - went further than angel delight.
bournevita - loved it but couldn't get on with ovaltine.

Ayton sandwich biscuits, I think they might have been Scottish, my Mum used to buy them, , they we're lovely,

Hollycat Tue 27-Feb-18 10:50:09

Pork chops with the kidney attached. Perhaps we can get them back after Brexit.

hildajenniJ Tue 27-Feb-18 10:21:51

My my mum used to buy us Cheese Whiz in a jar. I think it was made by Kraft foods. Best cheese spread ever, and a lovely orange colour. Also an orange flavoured fizzy drink that you mixed into water I think it was called Koolose or something like that. It was a powder, in a jar, and utterly delicious.
