What's the shelflife of hardboiled eggs?

With over a dozen eggs in my fridge, I was told by my doctor not to eat any, for health reasons.

My husband can - but not more than three in a week! So, I hardboiled them all .

Now we're wondering for how long we can keep them.

It's a silly question, for sure, but does anyone know?

Pickle them?

24 hours I think.
I might have used them to make meringues which can keep in a tin and lots of mayonnaise!

I have kept hard booked eggs for a werk, and they were fine to eat

One week in the fridge with shells left on.

Definitely no longer.

I’d say they’d be fine for a week with shells on. Scotch eggs, which are basically hard boiled eggs, are sold with shelf life of a few days after purchase so they will definitely be ok for longer than 24 hours. May get a bit black/grey inside though, but not harmful.

I'm wondering why your doctor advised you not to eat eggs giulia?
If it is because your cholesterol is high, I think that advice is out-dated.

Could you have not used 6 off them to make a couple of batches of scones for afternoon tea and put the rest in the freezer for a later date.

I think they keep better not hard boiled ! and are more versatile for using . Not helpful as you have already cooked them ... sorry

I would just buy six and get the longest date then you DH can eat them all up in two weeks without having to hardboil them.

Eggs keep for several weeks uncooked. Cooking shortens their shelf life.

I don't put eggs in my scones but perhaps that's where I go wrong hmm

Jalima1108: the total shutdown on eggs is an emergency, short-term decision of a dermatologist as I have had to come off statins abruptly (was getting all sorts of dermatological problems). I came right off any kind of alcohol too and I must say I miss the eggs more than the GT or glass of wine!
