Online food orders

Morrisons have never been late and are frequently early. I think I have had a substitution once.

I nearly collapsed laughing a few years ago when I ordered from Sainsbury's a pack of cat litter tray liners but what was sent was ladies panty liners- not quite what I wanted.

I use Tesco regularly and Sainsburys and Iceland for online shopping. I don't have many problems. The food is usually fresh, the occasional substitution is usually sensible and it is rarely late.
The rare late delivery or odd substitution such as not being able to provide another loaf of bread of the one I ordered is out of stock, is not major and online is still easier than going to the shop especially for someone like me who does not have a car.

Jalima I shared it with Mr S - it would have been greedy not to! tchgrin

Yes, I was puzzled that no-one queried it, but perhaps using their initiative isn’t permitted! I suppose I should have contacted Cust Serv, but, at the time, I just found it funny.

Nicely set up Patricia?
It was, wasn't it!

Squiffy - did you manage to eat a whole one?
(you would have though someone would have queried it!)

I think my best ‘quantity mishap’ was when I ordered 1 Brussel sprout instead of 1kg! ?

I have tried Waitrose, Sainsbury, Tesco and Ocado and Ocado is the best by far for punctuality (Waitrose never on time) price if there is a difference against Tesco prices they refund the difference, quality - never had any problems with the fruit, veg and other perishables and by far the best packing and a cheery delivery person every time. They also have the largest ranges and choice.

No, mine was delivered this morning on time with zero substitutes.
I find Ocado best for use by dates.

They will take stuff back OP. Don't waste your money.

I still think in imperial measures so in the early days we had some fun with quantities.

Can anyone please suggest me the best online UK-Based
food store for price and service?

I love online grocery shopping, and nearly have it off to a fine art. But I seem to have a bit of a blind spot when it comes to ordering bread and forgetting to check the size of the loaf. Those piddling little ones always seem to be the same price as the normal ones as well....

As I have to get all stuff not just food from Sainsbury's I have an order delivered about every 5 days and it is usually £60 plus.
I do have a bit of an issue with use by dates but the driver SOMETIMES warns me and I send it back.
In spite of my moans I would be completely stuffed without online shopping

I usually get it right now, but I used to type 2 when I meant 1, or add items by accident. I use Ocado and find them efficient on the whole. My main problem is that I don’t really need £40 of food every week. I agree use-by dates can be a problem.

I have to laugh, but at first was annoyed that I am sitting here having unpacked my Sainsbury's order, to find I have 2 cucumbers, 2 packs of spinach, 12 kiwi fruits and would have had 2 legs of lamb, except that I was quick to spot those and was able to return one of them to the driver. Alot of my items have to be used in the next 3 days as well. Is it just me ? Or does anyone else find that there is always some kind of hitch when doing online food shopping? I suppose I can make soup with the spinach, but this is a very small household. And DH hates soups with a vengeance! smile
