I use muslin but I had never though of the tea leaf strainer- what a great idea!

I made a little bag out of an old net curtain years ago. it's still going strong.

Muslin or you can buy a ball tea leaf strainer (made to hold leaf tea) which would also do the job.

I use bits cut off old baby muslins - from the dgc.

I bought a yard of muslin years ago and each year cut a little bit off. Seems to go on forever.

this may be one of those questions everyone knows the answer too except me! When making chutney I always use a clean handkerchief to put the pickling spice in wrap it up and tie with cotton cutting off excess. This seems wasteful and wonder if you all have some wonderful gadget that does the job and can be reused thanks in advance
