It's scone to rhyme with gone here in West Northumberland too.
I'm for butter, then jam, I'm not fussy about the cream.
Coincidentally, I've just made a batch of sultana scones which DH has just divided and taken half for the DGC.

Call them a biscuit and eat them with baon for breakfast?
Easier.

The village of Scone is pronounced scoon to rhyme with spoon. grin

If you put jam on my scone I will certainly moan - because I only like the cheese ones!

PS: Scone, rhymes with lone, cone, moan!

My mother used to judge what was the "done thing" by what Her Majesty would do.
Regardless of Radio 4's announcement I have read that HM pronounces it as scawn, so that's settled.
I have no idea whether she puts the jam first but I would never dream of doing so. Butter, jam then cream for me! smile

It rhymes with gone. Butter first and then jam- I also do not like cream.

I agree - scone to rhyme with phone, bone, tone, lone, cone, crone, zone, drone, hone, clone and prone. Definitely jam first otherwise it slides off the cream.

Official or not, I challenge that. It is scone to rhyme with gone.
