I have 6 packs of coffee which were bought to use at events, parties etc, here.
These are all cancelled now and the use buy date on the coffee packs is May 2020,
It is good fair trade Coffee and I do not want it wasted.
I have looked online and there seems to be a few different ideas out there.
I do not like Coffee, how would you store it?????
Please do not tell me I should not have bought so much, under normal circumstances it would all be used before the date.

Apparently you put coffee in the freezer.

Sorry I meant 16 packs, I should read before posting

Midgey that's what I thought but some of the distributors say no?

I thought in the freezer too.

I have an unopened, vacuum sealed pack which was out of date in 2018 and I may have to resort to using it if it smells ok instead of sprinkling it on the garden

Freeze it. It should last well there.

I keep coffee in the freezer. The only person who drinks it is DS2 and wife. They use it straight out of the freezer when they are here.

But 16 packets?? Are they 1 kg each? You'd need to buy a new freezer! You may be better off giving it away.

I don't suppose you can ask to give them back where you bought them? If they were for events, you should still have the receipt.

As long as the coffee is in sealed foil packets it will last for years. Kind friends bring a particular brand of french coffee back for me, and I have used l packs well beyond their sell-by date, and it does not impair the flavour.
Alternatively, store it in a freezer, as my mother in law used to do, with no ill effects.

I have 2 freezers so space is not a problem, I originally bought 50 packs last September, so just 16 left.
I bought it from the Fair Trade stall in my Church and would not dream of asking for the money back.
I will put it in the freezer and hope it is ok, thanks all.

the use buy date on the coffee packs is May 2020
Yes, it is still well in date so will be fine to freeze.

That was why I was asking Call, as so far here we do not know when we will be socialising again, but I do not want it wasted.
Health secretary announced probably another 8 weeks of complete lockdown yesterday.
