Online shopping - one delivery then no more to my address they say !

Any one had this problem with Morrisons online ordering?

I bought a 6 month delivery pass 10 days ago then placed an order for delivery on 1 April (first one I could get) and I've edited it a few times (mainly items I had forgotten). I've ordered enough for a week but I'll have to go out for bread. Hope everything comes.

We are self isolating as both 70+. I've tried this week a few times to do another order for mid April perhaps.

Morrison site says there are no dates available for my address and to select another address !

Have you used Morrisons and placed and order before one has been delivered? How do I do it?

Wondering now if my £20 (delivery pass) was wasted with Morrisons. I plan to risk it and do a shop or try click and collect with Asda. No dates with Sainsbury's.

Oh! I've sent a message to Morrisons (via facebook) on Monday but no reply as yet.

I know we are not all in the same position, but I ordered shopping for a month when I had so much difficulty getting a delivery slot. Just amended the order each time I realised we would be running out of certain things. Have @ farm shop just down the road for fresh veg/fruit if necessary. Don’t want to be guilty of food waste so no point ordering too much fresh stuff.

Apparently, Waitrose can't sort by age of customer, whereas Sainsbury's system can. This, I believe. is how slots are being allocated. My husband got a slot with Sainsbury because he buys wine and is 80. My fun of the day was watching him fill the basket - his computer, his job. A real learning curve for him as I stepped back. Anyway, if I succumb to the pestilence he will know how to shop, so doing him a favour.

Callistemon, sorry to hear about that Nurse. It's a story that will repeat lots in the next couple of months. This is us on day 5? of lockdown (that's the Brits) Yes, I know some of us started earlier. We have to be glad of any deliveries we get. How are you GNs coping in Italy and Spain, with your food deliveries? Yes, the GN in Berlin, the 'shielded ones' must never go out or have social visitors for 12 weeks.

I have been trying daily with Iceland Morrisons Waitrose and Sainsbury's and finally Sainsbury's had a lot of sirs opened at once including for next day delivery so I have one coming tonight.
Most things available or reasonable substitutes.
The only problem is that I rushed the order before slots disappeared and forgot a lot of things like milk and potatoes. I dont want to be greedy with slots they have but if they have plenty I'll do another order next week for all the things I've missed.
I know I'm lucky to have one.

I do hope good neighbours are helping older neighbours out with their shopping. We have offered to shop for 2 of the older people in the road- it is no problem for us as we have to go to shops ourselves anyway.
Yesterday Sainsburys was not busy & they had mostly fully stocked shelves- no pasta or loo rolls but I didn't need those anyway- I have one pack of loo rolls & I can live without pasta or make some if needed.
This could be a good time to meet your neighbours- at a distance- & build a community.

I bought a delivery pass with Asda. I prepared a shpopping list.
They didn't acknowledge that they had received the list but did adjust the list for the many items that were out of stock. I kept being given a meassage every time that I tried to book a delivery that my slot had gone and to try again. I lost count of the number of times that I went straight back to the slots and every single time with like 3 seconds between them I was told the slot had gone and to try again. Eventually we gave up and my husband went to Asda at 7.30am last Wednesday and bought in what we needed. We are both in the at risk group. The place was really busy. He met a couple from our old village 12 miles away who each had a trolley and they doubled up on the restricted 3 items per person. I have paid for a delivery pass which would appear to be useless. The owner of our village shop is lovely and has agreed to drop off anything we need. We will be doing our best to get what we want from him in future. What I am not sure about and this sounds very silly is how do we access our money to pay people who offer to shop for us? do we give them our card and pin number? This does not sound right to me.

I have had much the same, but two things i have found helpful..1 . When i logged into ASDA through mircosoft edge rather than chrome i actually managed to get, and book a slot??!! Also in some areas the co-op is now doing home delivery from online orders.

There seem to be a lot of “disgusted with Ocado/ Tesco/ Morrison’s” (delete whichever does not apply) here!
Someone wants her “regular weekly slot. shock. Yet somebody else got a delivery slot for later today from Iceland? That’s going to annoy somebody somewhere.
Oh dear, has it not sunk in that these are different times and that most “regular” things have had to be suspended.
I appreciate that a well stocked fridge, freezer or larder can help to make us feel more secure and the psychologists will confirm that it also at least reassures us to feel in charge of our own little domestic world when the wider world seems to be in chaos.
But we need to calm down - the online delivery services and supermarkets are trying to cope with extraordinary conditions. Let off steam by all means, but there are more serious issues to worry about.

Our Tesco this morning was marvellous. Parents and kids parking closed off, barriers up, all that area marked out in 2 metre squares. Trollies brought back by staff and cleaned each time, only 20 allowed in at a time, one trolley, one person if possible, checkouts well spaced out, shelves fairly well stocked, everyone adhering to instructions.

After the chaos recently, such a welcome change, however the queues at our Boots pharmacy are still 2 hour plus wait.

make what you have last longer
12 - 14 weeks is a long time.

4allweknow Thu 26-Mar-20 10:10:43

I heard Morrison's had closed the system due to demand.

Callistemon Thu 26-Mar-20 10:08:56

I've had lovely friendly emails from the supermarkets I generally use, Tesco, Waitrose and Sainsburys all offering to help. Lidl don't deliver anyway.

However, they just aren't helping
Understandable as they are overwhelmed but they do need to operate some system for vulnerable elderly. Some elderly people who could shop directly in the 1 hour slots can't get to the shops anyway.

Theoddbird Thu 26-Mar-20 10:06:53

Well said Nanny27. Totally agree. I swear that some do not realize the seriousness of what is happening. I am just using village shop. If they don't have it I go without. I am managing As I said...make what you have last longer.

Callistemon Thu 26-Mar-20 10:05:24

That post was in answer to Nanny27 but obviously other people can type faster than me.

Callistemon Thu 26-Mar-20 10:03:45

Well, that is very good as you were probably registered already, have a milkman delivering but many people do not or do not have a 'corner shop'. Many elderly vulnerable people are on their own and have no-one to shop for them although local help groups have been set up offering to do shopping, fetch medication etc.
Some of us will have to isolate for much longer and we will need to access more food at some point somehow.

You sound like a young family or perhaps multi-generational and I do hope you all remain well.

DD's MIL works in a supermarket and I know how anxious and overworked they are and yes, people have been abusive to them which is shocking.

What upset me most was the nurse whose video went worldwide when she sobbed, coming off a double shift to find the shelves stripped of fresh fruit and veg and I wonder how much of this may be wasted because people over-bought. She was on TV this morning and is isolating at home because she has caught COVID-19. I think I am quite a strong person but this made me break down in tears.
All she wants to do is get better, be tested and get back to work.

Please don't buy more than you need.

GracesGranMK3 Thu 26-Mar-20 10:03:43

You can see the two Morrison's boxes here

I should have let you all know but didn't take much notice of them as I can't eat most of the contents.

‘Phone’ not’ I-phone’.

Phoebes Thu 26-Mar-20 10:01:50

I’m having the same problem with Sainsbury’s. I am 77 and very vulnerable. I have asthma and atrial fibrillation. During the winter I was very ill for several months and had 3 courses of antibiotics and one of steroids, so my immune system is at rock-bottom and I have been self-isolating for most of their winter because I wasn’t well enough to go out. My husband was also ill, but is now better and he is able to go shopping, but doesn’t want to risk it in case he catches the dreaded virus and brings it home to me. I managed to register with Sainsbury’s for online shopping, but there are no delivery slots for weeks and I can’ get through on the iPhone to tell them how vulnerable I am. Their ‘help’ e-mail address doesn’t work. My neighbours are elderly too, so I can’t ask them. Any suggestions? We live near to a big Sainsbury’s, but I am terrified of going there.

GracesGranMK3 Thu 26-Mar-20 09:59:43

I actually had regular orders for my mother from Sainsbury's until she moved to the care home. Perhaps they just have more information for frequent customers?

GracesGranMK3 Thu 26-Mar-20 09:55:52

I don't know Charleygirl5. Have you looked in your junk mail? I am also a priority customer at Sainsbury's and don't know how that happened either.

I have had a regular order from Morrisons for several years having decided I would rather have the company that had a warehouse especially for online shopping rather than using the local store. I am quite sad they are changing but not surprised.

Charleygirl5 Thu 26-Mar-20 09:55:17

Morrisons will only allow me to book one slot at a time and as I do not know when my next slot will be I have ordered ahead for about a month.

Morrisons must have my date of birth but I certainly have not been prioritised.

Is everybody aware they will do a next day delivery? They have two boxes, one "meat" the other "vegetarian" but we can only choose which box, Morrisons fill them with essentials but I do not know what their idea of essentials is and each box costs £35. I have no idea about delivery charges.

Nanny27 Thu 26-Mar-20 09:49:10

I'm reading these posts with disgust! Words like "shame on you" and "disgraceful" show people to be totally out of touch with the current situation. Poor things who can't get yoghurt! Really! We are in a state of emergency and the staff at supermarkets and delivery depots are completely overwhelmed. Nobody was able to see this coming so nobody could possibly be prepared. It's hard on people who can't order what they want when they want but it's hard on everybody! We are a household of 7 and are managing on a veg box delivery once a week, the milkman who only brings milk and a tiny local corner shop. We are managing and we will be OK.

KathrynP Thu 26-Mar-20 09:45:32

I have been on Waitrose Tesco Sainsbury’s Ocado website and there are no Delivery slots or Click & Collect for 3 weeks . I am registered With all of them. The positive side is I am losing that stubborn weight I been trying to shift!

hereshoping Thu 26-Mar-20 09:44:06

I registered on Morrisons and managed to book a delivery for next week and later booked another slot for following week. Don't ask me how but I did.
Logged on to Sainsburys early Monday and suddenly there were slots available so booked for Wednesday yesterday. Thought that I'd booked for am, but turned out to be pm. I was probably flustered.
Finding planning and looking ahead to what I will need very difficult.
I think that they must be looking at points cards to check our ages and beginning to give us priority. Hope so and not just a fluke.

Beanie654321 Thu 26-Mar-20 09:41:42

They are supposed to prioritizing over 70 age group. If you register with Sainsbury they do, they ask date of birth. Xxx
