Nando's Peri-Peri Chicken

Tee hee. We made a new kind of loaf in the bread maker today. it worked, the first one to come out of that bread maker properly, since lock down. Yes, I confess, I sent for a kit to make wholemeal bread. It even tastes like wholemeal bread.

Mine was garlic.

Oh what I would give for a dark chocolate bounty bar, village shop only had milk chocolate ones when I dared to venture inside to get some milk. I don't know why as I only ever have them a few times a year, just because I can't I suppose

Inspired by this culinary challenge I ordered a bottle of the Nando's sauce - here is the result

I really fancy fish, chips and mushy peas from the fish and chip shop.

That sounds very mundane after all the exotic recipes above!!

I really think that will stretch my culinary abilities.
That was very tongue in cheek, they weren’t giving much away were they?
I was surprised when I read the Ikea one as there was no mention of the lingonberry jam which gives the sauce its distinctive taste.
I have a Hairy Bikers recipe for meatballs in a cream sauce which is very good.

My word! That’ll stretch my culinary abilities. ?

Macho Peas ingredients
400g frozen peas
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
3-4 springs fresh parsley, finely chopped
2-3 sprigs fresh mint, finely chopped
1/2 tsp salt
2 good pinches of dried red chilli flakes (add more if you like it hot)

Somebody at Nando's clearly has a sense of humour

I've got a bottle of Nandos somewhere in the depths of my cupboards which hasn't been used and is no doubt out of date by now.

I'm sceptical as to whether it would taste as good as the real thing though, have also heard they've released their recipe for Macho Peas which I'm partial to too.
