DH keeps offering to cook - for which I am grateful obviously - but he has 3 'specials' which are quite 'odd'! Can anyone recommend an easy first stage cookery book. After all, he will need to eat if I die first!!

I don’t think a cookery book is always the way to go.
My husband is a very reluctant chef, I find teaching him or getting him to watch a technique then applying it is the best way.
For example breaded chicken and fish.
Stir fry is a good one!
These should be foolproof ?.
Risotto is good if he has patience.
My husband can make salad dressing, egg fried rice and chilli all by himself now.
Then build up to casseroles roasts etc.
Good luck?
